Everyone you're not gonna believe this! My I-360 got approved yesterday! Yay!!! My lawyer called me and I was in tears! I can't believe it got approved so fast!

Thank you everyone, Sandra, Faithkeeper, Peanutbutter, and sooooo many people who encouraged and helped me through this tough time!

My lawyer said there's no ground for my I-485 to be denied so I'm just gonna have to wait till my turn to go to the interview. I'm so stoked!

I filed I-360 along with I-485 and work authorization in Novermber 2012, and got approved August 8th, 2013. That only took them less than 8 months, which is super fast. I think part of it was because I had lots of evidences, testimonies, and my own plea was written in details, so they approved it super fast. I'm so happy right now but at the same time I almost threw up in my throat thinking about the things I've endured during my time with my ex husband.

I'm still sad, I'm still angry, I'm still suffering from anxiety, but I have one less thing to worry about in my life. One obstacle is out of the way, and I'm trying to be strong.

I pray for all the people here who filed for VAWA to have a happy ending, and if you have any question please do not hesitate to ask.

I'm finishing up my law degree, specialized in immigration law, especially VAWA/U-Visa cases, so I will try my best to assist you guys here just like how you guys helped me.

hi everyone

I dont know if you all remember me, I used to use ID "Irara"

I just got an email from USCIS that they requested for evidence.

I applied in March 2013 and its quite surprising they already took a look at my case.

just hoping it's nothing serious.

i didnt send medical exam with the documents because i was advised that it might expire while waiting for VAWA anyway so just do it when they ask.

I want to ask anyone who can help me, please.

- Is it too late to see psychologist and get evaluation now if RFE is for abuse? ( I only suffered mental abuse. and I turned in counselor's evaluation )

survivor2012 they did not approve your case fast because you have lots of evidences, all adjudicators touch the case once, if everything is ok they approve right away , if it's ok they ask for more evidences. The cases are assigned to 25 adjudicators, some work faster than others,I have some cases approved in 9months as well. Until 3 years ago they used o adjudicate in 3/4months all cases , then due the numbers of cases they started adjudicating in17/19months and 5months ago they increased the number of adjudicators and they are taking now 7/12 months now.Congrats.

kittykitty2014 you can submit the psychological evaluation anytime,but once they sent you an RFE just wait and see if they are asking proof of the abuse and then ubmit with your evaluation.keep in mind if they are asking proof of the abuse it means you did not convince them with your story and then it's better if you write all over again your story and in DETAILS. Did your psychologist mention number of sessions, course of treatment,evolution of the treatment and diagnose?

I turned in the counselor's evaluation form Women's Center where i attended 8 weeks counseling program. She wasn't a psychologist so i dont think that evaluation helps much.

Is it okay to wait til I find out if RFE sent for abuse and go see a psychologist later?

Would the evaluation still work even if i went to see a doctor after i receive RFE?

could a RFE for medical exam?

Has anyone who is living in NYC receive any public assistance from the welfare office using the prima facie. I have applied for cash assistance and they only give for my daughter and say am not qualified or any cash assistant for my self. I know I can only get food stamp for my daughter and not my self I understand that. Can someone please tell me what are the public benefits.

I think you should wait to get the RFE to see what they are asking you,they don't ask for medical exam before adjudicating the Vawa case , just after Vawa Approval. The counselor letter it does not help a lot if you are trying to prove abuse since she cannot give you a psychological evaluation and USCIS ask the psychologist mention number of sessions, duration of each sessions, treatment recommended, evolution of the therapy,diagnose and if they referred the alien to see a doctor or to take medication. Many women here got RFE and then started with the therapy and submitted the evaluation after 5/6 weeks and their cases were approved.

Congrats to all approvals! I have been waiting for 14 months now. Not sure what else I can do to make them finally review my case. I took info pass two weeks ago, they told me I will receive a letter within 2 weeks and nothing.

Obmundsman office responded saying: It appears that USCIS was supposed to reach out to you last month. I have forwarded your inquiry to follow-up on your case. Someone should be in touch with you shortly, either from our office or USCIS.

Hopefully, they will get back to me with some result. Not sure what order VSC follows that some cases get approved in 8 months and some people wait 14-16 months. This waiting game has been very painful...

We have a situation with a young woman who visits the shelter for help she is suffering violence domestic this very affected emocial and psychologically the husband does not hit it but have it sick nerves she is sick of nerves and many other diseases produced by the extress she has two children of 6 and 7 years and wants to move to live here at the shelter or with his aunt house, she currently lives with the husband in a city two hours from here, but in the State of virginia she need to know what to do to leave her home and bring her children with she, when she should go to the police and that she must say for not have.problem of having left the house and take children ...who can do she to take that step in her life leave your abuser husband she is scare about that, she really need help, please let me you advice for her. Thank you!!!
