Correct me if im wrong and excuse my innocent ignorance. Why does she need to file an i864w form? Arent Vawa petitioners exempt from an Affidavit of support doc???

Yes, and the I-864W is the form that indicates the exemption (the W stands for "waiver").

So basically I have to fill that out despite the fact my AOS is transferred to local office? or should I just wait for an RFE.

If you haven't completed one previously then you should fill one in and take it to your AoS interview. It's a single page that you can complete in less than five minutes. More likely your local office will RFE you for it ahead of the interview, however.

Thank you everyone. This is my timeline. Please let me know of you guys have any questions or if I forget to include something in the timeline

Receipt date: June 6, 2011

Work permit: sept 26, 2011

RFE received: August 19, 2011

Vawa approved: August 29, 2012

Case transferred to my local office: May 14, 2013

AOS interview date: July 30, 2013

Green card document production: July 31, 2013

The officer was very nice, but she was very strict. She didn't let anything go. I felt that the help of my attorney was crucial. When she asks me a question I wasn't sure about, I look at my attorney and she helped me answer it.

At the end of the interview she said she would issue me a visa and that I should receive my green card in the mail within 10 days.

By the way, I only had to do my biometrics just once. I didn't have to renew anything. I submitted everything at the very beginning and they never asked for renewal.

Oh and I forgot to mention that my case was weird and complicated so that's why the help of my attorney was so crucial...

May I ask why do you say it was weird and what type of questions she asked to make you uncomfortable...?

Can you like tell one of the questions asked?

If wasn't the first time I applied for immigration benefits which make it confusing and they were a lot of changes on my case with me being divorced to my ex. I remarried and my daughter was adopted by my new husband. Plus my ex husband had me charged for defending myself while I was pregnant....and so forth. So.many things that make mycase take forever at the interview. She digged deeper into it. She wanted to make sure I was telling the whole truth.

They asked me questions like how did you meet your new husband? They asked questions about the adoptions. The first thing they did was asking me to identify myself which I had to do under 3 different last names...

I personally don't think I would have been able to handle the interview without my attorney's help. Some of you have some pretty simple cases which is nice, but mine was very dramatic and even the officer said it herself at the interview that my case was weird....

Citragirl. You should just file one I-912 and in the Section 1 line 5 you should list all forms you are asking to have the fees waived ( I-485 and I-765),for those renewing EAD there is NO Uscis fees.

You must submit everything together .Yes you have to submit to VSC.Do not forger to write outside the envelope in the right upper with big letters VAWA UNIT.

When assembling for mailing the documents place a cover letter on top of the application package, followed by form I-912, I-485,G325A,I-864W and I-693, and G1145,Copy of Vawa approval, copy of you birth certificate and respective translation, copy of marriage certificate, copy of I-94(if you were inspected by Immigration),copy of your husband birth certificate or copy of his passport, copy of you Passport (all pages),copy of divorce decree(if you have one) copy of your child's birth certificate (if you have a child), 2 passport photos (attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the G-325a.) and documents proving bonafide marriage.

alicemungay they just deny the AOS if some new fact/proof comes up and Vawa Unit was unaware of the existence such as the alien gets married before Vawa approval, reconciled with the abuser, or if they find out for example the alien's marriage is null and void because the spouse (abuser) did not get divorce from his first wife, and vice versa, and if the alien cannot proof bonafide marriage. Last year the Visa Journey Member " Micandmic" had the AOS denied after her Vawa was approved, because they said she did not have enough proof showing a bonafide marriage, she posted about it.

Sorry for being so inquisitive :3

Do I send now the same I sent already to vawa to proof bonfide marriage?

And we had a child, passport the one with the visa (expired 2002) and the updated one all pages for both?

And the ead request goes after I-485?
