10 days prior to expiration of my prima facie my lawyer sent a letter to VSC to renew it. My prima facie expired on June 25th and I still don't have any response from VSC. It's been over two weeks with no response. I remember they issued my first renewal pretty fast. I don't know what's going on.

Thank you Sandranj for your answer smile.png

I haven't received the actual mail yet, just an e-mail I will look through it and see what all they require as well.

I don't have the filing fee but I was considering borrowing some and paying it off because I'm afraid if I file the fee wave form they will consider me as a "burden to society"; what do you think?

Also since I already have work permit I-765 (thru my college for OPT) which is good till January 2014, should I still file for another one?

Thank you again!

Hey lank I thought of you today I pray you get your approval soon. I tried applying for food stamps an the rep. told me myself an my son dont qualify because I dont have the prima facie for 5 years which made absolutely no sense I said to her after 5years I would hope I would have my GC by then!

Only my daughter qualifies because she is a USC. *sigh*

Czzr somebody posted I think in vawapart3 about the steps to request a social security number

I remember something about obtaining a letter but I don't remember if it had to be from the school or financial aid office... I don't have a computer right now but I shall look for it and verify and repost or try to find info in the ss web site. I am sure the people at the office won't tell us, I got a letter from them too that I cannot receive a ss# until my application gets approved. But I'll look for that post I told you about.
