Hi everyone,

It will be a little more than 8 months since my Vawa was approved. My interview is coming up in few more weeks. Mine has never been transferred to NBC. USCIS website has never updated my case since I changed my address a year ago. So anyone waiting, your file could be sitting in your local office waiting for your interviews to be scheduled.

Sandranj,

In the interview letter, they want me to bring my medical exam results but I already submitted it 2 years ago along with my I-485 when I was with my ex-husband, and I don't have any copy of it except my immunization record. Should I redo it because it has been 2 years?

They also ask for proof of bonafide marriage. Isn't that just for I-360 petition? My lawyer sent in most of my original documents, I hope she still keeps a copy of everything.

Do you know what question they will be asking based on your previous clients? I am so worried as the interview date comes close.

i have interview in a few and i am walking with every document.I hope your attorney has your originals and not copies. You must have originals for interviews. If you did medicals i don't know why you will have to redo it unless it is as a result of independent applications. Wouldn't make sense anyway.Nevertheless.I just did my medicals and is taking ti with me along with all my docs i sent for i360 approval.Just in case

Apple2013 you need to have the medical exam done since your medical exam was done over 15months ago. I don't believe your attorney submit your original documents such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport ,divorce decree if you divorced. You must bring this document to the interview. They .ask about bona fide marriage, not about the abuse, some offices they don't ask anything just check the original documents.

why they need proof for bona fida marriage again in green card interview ?this matter VAWA already investigated before and found that we all have bona fida marriage otherwise non of us would have the VAWA approved?

what kind of proof they need?i only submitted pictures of marriage with VAWA.Nothing else.wast do i need to submit more?

Sandra, it's only biometrics that are valid for 15 months, not medicals. Provided the I-693 medical exam was submitted concurrently with the I-485 and the alien had no class A or B medical conditions (other than a class B condition listed under "Other Medical Conditions") then the I-693 is deemed to remain valid until USCIS adjudicate the I-485.

My biometrics are 20 months old and have had no request for another to be done despite interview.Maybe things have changed.

They haven't. Without valid biometrics an I-485 cannot be approved. If the IO attempts to approve an I-485 in the system and valid biometrics aren't on-file for that alien, you will instead be sent another biometrics appointment to have them captured once again.

I believe my attorney sent my original marriage certificate because the last time I asked, she said she only has the copy of my marriage certificate. Well I can go to the city and get another original one, not a big deal. I need to make an oppointment asap with her to make sure she has everything original, otherwise, I'm dead.

But, according to above comment, should I redo my medical exam because it is stated in my interview letter I must have it, but the new policy says my medical exam should last just fine until May 2014?

hypnos I have a bunch of.cases with medical exam done over 15months ago and Uscis asked New medical exam, ncluding one member of this thread that sent me a text msg today saying her interview will be on JAn 28 and they asked a new medical exam, she submitted the previous one 17months ago,and as said I had several other cases as well. The alien should be aware about the possibility that Uscis may ask a new medical exam.

The alien should have a new medical exam done just if Uscis ask for that.

We have Many cases with biometric done over 15 months , and the the aliens got the GC,one of them was the member Alma.

Thank you so much Sandranj. I will get my medical exam again just to be safe.

Also, I notice that form I-864W is for co-sponsor, and I submitted it with my ex-husband's name 2 years ago. The interview letter wants me to bring current letter of employment and W-2's of myself and co-sponsor. Do I need to bring another I-864W form with a new sponsor name? I'm just wondering do I still need a sponsor if I made $12k/year?

Thank you so much Sandra for all your help. God bless you!

My biometric is also 22 month old and no request for that, I guest they will delay our green cards after the interviews because they have to wait for our new biometrics.

We will be fine *wink*

Some adjudicators may not be fully aware of the law and all of the relevant policy memos. The I-693 memo I linked above is binding on all USCIS employees. If you can afford to get a new I-693 done then I'm sure it couldn't hurt, but since it will cost a few hundred dollars it isn't something I would have done unless an IO specifically asked for a new medical. If you have met the qualifications in the policy memo they may incorrectly ask you for another. Sadly, not all USCIS employees are created equal.

Hey hypnos, are you guys talking about if i693 was submitted with initial i485 with ex husband? Or submitted after i360 approval? So medicals is valid until i485 is abjudicated?..I'm a little confused

The linked policy memo seems to say that provided you submitted an I-693 with an I-485 then it remains valid for however long it takes until USCIS adjudicates it, provided you meet the qualifications I wrote above.
