In your case wait maximum 60 days after your vawa approval and inquire the local office about your I-485.

missymd, I'm not expert at this but I feel your frustration I filled mine in October 2011, got asked for 2nd RFE in late January, submitted it by April 19th. They send me email saying that I will hear in 60 days, which was June 19th. Today I finally heard from them. MY I-360 GOT APPROVED today!!! Don't worry (I know it's hard not too) but I waited as long as you did. Keep your faith in God, He has plan and time ing for everything:)

Ok so my i360 got approved today!! Thank you Jesus, and to all who prayed, supported and gave wonderful tips/advices.

I only filed my i360, I got my work permit thru my college for one year it will expire in January 2014. Work permit doesn't have anything to do with VAWA case at all.

Now what is my next step? I read thru other topics and vawa forms but I couldn't find a exact answer.

Do I file for GC?

Can I file for fee waive?

How great is the chance that I would get denied for GC even if my vawa was approved?

Thank you all

naptime Congrats! Praise the Lord.

As far I understood you never filed form I-485(not even when living with your husband) right? then you have to submit:

I-765,I-485, I-693,I-864W , G325A and proof of I-360 approval plus supporting documents. If you can't pay the Uscis fees then file form I-912 as well.

The chances to be denied is very small, it happens usually if something came up after you submitted your Vawa and they did not know such as you reconciled with the abuser, got married when I-360 was pending etc...The local office CANNOT DENY the AOS they can send back to Vawa Unit for revocation and then vawa Unit can affirm or denied.
