Hi every body

I went yesterday to INFOPASS appointment to follow up on my case.My case for I-485 based on VAWA approval was transferred to NBC since October 2013 and as per sandranj,we should contact the immigration if it is more than 45 days. The representative there informed me that it is still in NBC and was not transferred yet to my local office till now. There must be something wrong .Can some body please advice how to fix that so my case go from NBC after being there for more than 60 days to go to my local office for interview?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sandranj,

Thanks for your reply and I hope you are enjoying your time with your family.I tried to send e-request through this link

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Case.do;jsessionid=abc2cGuYBdyCR8RYOgSmu

the system said it is still in normal processing time and did not allow me to complete my e-request.My senate person was involved and the reply was the case is in NBC and they cannot give time when it can transferred to local office.

Fancy 1,

I am in the same situation . My I 485 was transferred on October 1.

First when I checked online status it said that the case was transffered to my local office that has jurisdiction over me, than one week later changed to: your case was transferef to NBC ....

What do you think it is?

Fancy1 and Ben B, I'm in the same situation too. Ben B, I received the same messages in the same order.

Let me know if you figure out a solution or if anyone goes to Infopass. I also am not sure if an Infopass is worth it, because it sounds like they'd just tell me what I already know: that the file is at the NBC and that they don't know when it will be transferred.

I think there is a glitch in their system. Sandra explained that the transfer first to the local office and then to the NBC is due to the need for RFEs, meaning that in the local office sees that something is missing from the file and then sends the file to the NBC so that the NBC can send the RFE.

BUT...

The Q&A NBC-AILA session from May said Vermont has to send the files to the NBC first, before the files reach the local office. They shouldn't be going directly from Vermont to the local office. They should be going: Vermont --> NBC --> Local Office.

The Q&A session also says that the NBC sends RFEs within 10 days of receipt at the NBC. They haven't sent RFEs to any of us and it is way after 10 days now. Also, this is happening to a bunch of us and none of us has gotten any RFEs.

I think that they directly send the cases from Vermont to the NBC, but the online system is messed up and gives wrong information, as if the cases were first sent to the local office, which - according to the USCIS rules - they shouldn't be.

Then they sit at the NBC for an unclear amount of time, and nobody can tell how long that is.

I just tried to do an Infopass, but the system told me that my case is within processing times. The problem is that I can NOT find the normal processing times for I-485s based on VAWA. They have posted processing times for I-485s derived from other forms (such an employment, I-130, refugees, etc.), but not for I-485 based on VAWA.

Does anyone know what the processing times are for I-485 based on VAWA? Does anyone know where this information is available on the USCIS website? I can't find it.
