I swear I am getting rid of my lawyer, he took off for vacation without sending me any of my documents, like he said he would! Thanks alot. dry.png

Hi Vawa peeps.I pray all is well.Hang in there.I thought all was lost when I realize that my marriage was over and my immigration was over.I felt hopeless dent know what to do .I let it go and trusted in God. One day I was in the gym when I met this woman and in talking she told me what she did.I then told her my prob and my situation.( she was the director of immigration for the senator).I made an appointment , saw her, she did all my paperwork and sent it off.I am writing this because there was nooo hope before until I met this lady that God directed in my life.Ddnt know about Vawa, thought all was lost. All is NOT lost ,God is on the throne .We are all here and though we may have delays, all things are working together for those that serve and love God.My life s a testimony of Gods faithfulness in this journey.Dont give up,one day at a time,be patient . its gonna work out #datisall#

Hi guys. So upset. I was going to mail out my packege on Monday. My psycologist was doing my evaluation for 2 weeks. I finally got and all she've done is copied my affidavite. Don't worry about the delay Olga. Its better to get this delay than Denial with USCIS. Just relax , recharge and do what you gotta do over. Lets root for no RFE"S,QUICK APPROVAL.Its gonna work out.Now you know what to do

Hi guys, just wanted to share some info with you on the subject of divorce. U can try to do an uncontested divorce. Your attorney or paralegal would run an ad in the papers for a few weeks and then submit the papers to the court. Aftr that you are given a notice to appear in court to have the divorce finalised. U dnt have to kno where he/she is to file. Just pray and hope that he/she soesnt see the ad to respond. If all goes well, u will be legally free and not have to see ur abuser. That's the route i took and it worked for me. Took a little time but it was well worth it.

How long did the entire process take??

@ lorphelpme, it took between 2-3mths (betwen running the ad and gettin a court date). Could take longer if the state u live in requires u to prove residency. I had to prove that i was living there for 6mths or more before i could file for divorce.

hi guys plz i have question i was seperate from my abuser 1 years and 10 mounth now i want to get my divorce i went last week i found out he fill for divorce but still pending because he didnt know my adresse what i have to do am realy broke i dont have money to hire lawyer can i contact his lawyer to send me th paper and sign it ? plz any one know smg help me

@ rohy, if you dnt have any money and dnt want to encounter with ur ex just ignore it. He doesnt have to kno ur address. He can still have the process completed. When i went to court after running the ad, the judge asked me how i went about trying to find my ex i told her i tried calling him and i tried callibg his relatives to find him and they didnt kno where he was. Then i told her i ran an ad for several weeks to which he did not respond. She asked me for id or any other proof to prove i was livin in that state for at least 6mths. Then she asked me if i wanted to return to using my maiden name to which i said yes and then it was over.

Bottom line, it didnt cost him a penny cause i filed and i didnt need to have an address for him. Therefore in ur case it wont cost u a dime since he filed and he definitely dnt need to have an address for u to have completed if he did an uncontested divorce. Dnt kno the process if he has an address for u and were to havecu served.

Could you Please show a sample of what the newspaper advert looks like or says. Was it free ad? Did you use a pro bono? Also So you divorce was approved without a signature from your ex husband? How was his copy sent to him? Sorry a lot of questions Lol- I just need to get this divorce thing out of the way when I'm ready

Bestgirlever....no worries, i dnt mind the questions at all. Glad i'm able to help. Unfortunately i dnt have a copy of the ad but it says something like "this is to advise the public that i xxxx is no longer responsible for xxxx. I am not responsible for any debts incurred by xxx". Something to that tune. Any divorce lawyer or paralegal shd kno how to word it exactly. I used a paralegal for that purpose cause they r cheaper. I did not have or needed my ex signature. As for having a copy sent to him i was not concerned abt him gettin one as long as i had my copy...lol. Hell, he can go chk online or at the courthouse to find out if he's divorced. I'm done with that sucker...
