you mean my i-360 file? I applied i-485 is not in Vermont service center.

I am hoping local office they are still holding my i-485, i remember someone said he had to reapply because local office didnt hold his i-485 file.

Nothingicando i handled thousands of vawa cases i never had any problem with pending I-485. Some lawyers refile sometimes,but i believe you will mess up the case submiting new I-485.The I-485 once pending is valid.They did not throw in the garbage then they will adjudicate your case using the pending I-485.

Sandra I got my approval notice June 10 so I can gauge around December for my case to be transferred as well?

I never hire a lawyer for my case, so when some steps are different with normal steps, i always feel panic.

I had to call her and ask for these papers. She gave them to me and they were all expired.

I'm glad I'm now on this forum:)

My attorney had the opinion that I should not apply for benefits, so I have not only for my USC baby. But fortunately a local organization is renting me an apartment at low cost thru a Federal program, my lease will be up soon and I shall find a regular rate place but even though I woke up a little anxious I still have faith that we shall be fine. May God bless and help us thru this journey

In your case wait maximum 60 days after your vawa approval and inquire the local office about your I-485.

faithkeeper I had some AOS interviews that happened after 3months of the Vawa approval, but i had many cases took 5,6months .It depends of the workload of each local office.

Hey sandra can you tell me how many sessions of counseling should i do? the psychologist i met told me she usually do just one counseling for 2 hours and them write the psychological evaluation

emonezama i recommend at least 5/'6 sessions because i saw several people that got RFE and vawa unit asked how many sessions, duration of each session, treatment recommended, treatment accomplished, progress of the therapy . It means is very important to have a few sessions, I have people that i submitted vawa 8months ago and they are still doing therapy.I would not submit a psychological evaluation with just one or two sessions of therapy at all.I recommend minimum five. The psychologist can perform a psychological evaluation after 2 hours of session for sure, but for immigration purposes what matters is the evaluation and the treatment that the alien is doing to overcome the abuse( vawa based in mental abuse).

I attended 7 sessions of an hour each at the time of taking the letter from my counselor which was in May 2012. After that too I continued for therapy till December 2012.
