kittykitty1234 is your husband naturalized? if yes then you should file an appeal. The alien has to prove the status of the abuser, for example if the abuser was born in the U.S then the alien can get a copy of his birth certificate if the alien knows where the abuser was born, but if the abuser was born abroad and is naturalized then USCIS should search in their archives the abuser status,considering your lawyer asked USCIS to search about your ex Citizenship.

The man who inspired me to be compassionate passed away today "Nelson Mandela". I was in college in 1985 and my thesis was about "anti-apartheid", and then I learned about this anti-apartheid revolutionary man. I was thrilled in February 1990 when he was released from prison after 27 years. I learned many things reading about his life and one of the things I will remember forever is a lesson that in order for us to be free, we have to leave our bitterness and our hatred behind otherwise we will have the soul eternally imprisoned. What a great man...Rest in Peace.

Omg. Some lawyers are so messed up. Making life even more difficult for people than it already is. Sorry to hear this but I guess you might have to withdraw vawa and ask sandranj for some help..my attorney is also messed up anyway so its becoming the norm.some Self acclaimed immigration attorneys not even having any knowledge of the immigration laws cos all they want is money. Goodluck tho

True !

They do so b'cos both ways they(Attorneys) win.

If the client gets for what they've got money, then both (Attorney & Client)win.

If client loses, still Attorney wins (now he'll even get more money as now client in critical situation and the case now even tougher & bigger money for attorney).

Shame for such "so called Attorneys".

Not all attorneys are that kind of, I am talking about some who belong to the category what 'jessy43' & 'bestgirlever' mentioned.

This Forum is really blessed as we have help of Honest & Expert soul "Sandranj"

@Sandranj: Keep it up !!

Opinion from somebody

I just notice my notifications say first that my case was transfered lo local office, next day received another notification that it is now at a uscis office... Could this mean my case didn't go to nbc office? Is that something I should be concerned about, also is it common that ead states finger print not available?

He was born in US and the only reason i could not get the birthcertificate is because i dont know his father's name. Washington state did not wanna issue the certificate because i couldnt provide the father's name eventhough they said that he's is in thier system.

Omg did you just say "you don't know the name of his father? Wow so you don't know your ex husbands middle and last name? Cos that's usually the fathers name and family name. How did you marry him, what names did he sign in the marriage certificate? I even knw the names of all my ex's 5 siblings too and some of his friends lol- but never mind I guess that's why uscis found it fishy and you got denied. But goodluck btw

Yeah anajnic, sometimes if the father wasn't in his life he could even decide to change his name and not bear his fathers name at all. But then he will always tell his girlfriend/wife about it.so she knows! I don't what was the case with kitty's situation but I hope it alll get sorted out.
