bestgirlever fill out form DHS-7001,question 9 choose "b" and "d", and the question 10 explain if you are awaiting adjudication of your case, or waiting to receive EAD or waiting USCIS to transfer your case to the local office to attend AOS interview. Mention when you filed the case, if it was approved and when etc...

Hi everyone, is there anyone still waiting on approval at least over 14mnths? Hi sandranj I filled the form and ombudsman said it will take then 45DAYS to get back to me and know how they can assist me(is this the norm?).I don't know what else to do anymore.its so frustrating the way uscis delays cases unnecessarily though

Bestgirlever

I think "45 days" for everyone. actually i waited over 60 days becuase the goverment was closed. if they accept your case, they will say they may have to wait 60 days to get an answer for USCIS. and this time i just waited 16 days and they told me my case is in local already. i dont know how long for me to wait...

The 45 / 60 days you're quoted is unfortunately not down to the Ombudsman but USCIS themselves. The Ombudsman contacts USCIS to enquire about your case, and USCIS then has 45 / 60 days (it seems to vary) to respond; sometimes the response will be sooner, but that's completely down to USCIS.

I also had to get help from the Ombudsman due to USCIS' incompetence in certain areas, and it took around six months from my initial contact to the Ombudsman until my case was finally straightened out. Once you're on the Ombudsman's radar and they have agreed to help with your case then this is usually a good thing; the wheels move slowly, but they do move.

In my situation, they even managed to send my case to the wrong field office near the end. USCIS agreed to transfer my case out from the service centre (which it shouldn't have been sent to in the first place) to Dallas, but then turned around and sent it to Houston instead. I had to get the Ombudsman involved - again - to have the case moved from Houston to Dallas, and it took a month to do so.

That was some fun times.

Hi everybody!! I found this:

NBC AILA 5/1/2013 pdf

Request of Evidence for Vilolence Again Women Act (VAWA) cases

If any required initial evidence is missing, we will send and RFE and give the applicant 87 days to respond. The review for evidence and the completed within the first ten days of recipt of the case an NBC.

Once all required initial evidence is present and fingerprint results are received NBC will ship the case to the field office for manual interview scheduling. These cases are manually scheduled by the field because of sensitive nature of the cases. NBC has no control over sheduling interviews or completing adjudicaton.

On average, if a case does not require an RFE and fingerprints are valid, the application is shipped to the field office in less than 30 days.

This is for those people we get tranfer to NBC and wonder why? My cuestion is my is been there for over 30 days and I know I miss my medical exam, but I haven't got any RFE, now I don't know what to think , is just the waiting is so frustated!

sandranj,

I applied for AOS ,did my biometric, did the medical and received my EAD.I found that my approved VAWA case was sent from vermont to NBC and it is there since October 2013 and it never went to the local office for interview scheduling. They said 30 days but is now almost 60 days and still my file is still in NBC for no reason and never went to local office.

What should I do?is this unusual?

Thanks.

A government office which oversees or regulates certain public bodies, in this case USCIS.

fancy1, do you have a Priority Date?

After my VAWA was approved, I filed for AOS. When the Notice of Action came, I noticed I had no Priority Date (I was married to an US Citizen). I received another Notice that my case was transferred to the National Benefits Center. I did my fingerprints one week ago. Is the absence of a Priority Date common? What does this mean when it comes to processing a case?

My file was transferred to the NBC less than a month ago. Is there a way to find out online any more information about the status of an application? I mean to find out more than what you see when you type your receipt number in the case status website:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

If I get registered, can I find out more about my status?
