godisgreat23 you don't show your medical exam when you attend AOs interview, you have to submit BEFORE AOS adjudication, but as I said I saw some cases they did not ask a new one, it's up to you if you want to submit now or wait to see if they will ask you or not.

Thank you Sandranj.

I tried calling couple of civil surgeons , they are a rip off .. I dont have a vaccination record from my country of birth. Is there

any blog or way to find cheap ones.

Hi sandra or anybody who can help.l applied my vawa in october 2011,my lawyer told me not to apply for my AOS,l,m really desperate now bcos l didnt get a decision yet even after sending my rfe back beginning of may.its almost two months now since rfe...my question iscan l still apply for my aos now without using my lawyer bcos he,s sill going to charge me again.l paid almost $6000 for my vawa now am broke as hell.l have a 3yr old n very desperate.l just need a work permit so l can get a better job and a drivers license..i,m so tired of taking buses especially with a child.

Missymd if your ex is a US citizen you can apply for your AOS right now. You don't need a lawyer, especially one who charged you so much for VAWA (which is free!). Fill out forms I-485 (form for AOS), I-765 (form for work permit), and 2, I-912's(form requesting fee waiver). One I-912 goes with AOS, and the other goes with the work permit application. You can also write a letter requesting a fee waiver for both applications, instead of filing the form I-912. (This is what my lawyer did in my case. - USCIS guidance here) Sandranj has previously advised that you write the letter and state your income, expenses, and other payment responsibilities, and ask for the fee waiver. Remember to include your A#, and a copy of your approved I-360 petition. This pdf has the poverty guidelines per household size.

Oh missyd I feel your pain my lawyer charged me 4500.00 for me an 2250.00 for my son who is my beneficiary so I understand how hard it is I still ended up paying 5300.00 an that was just for the work permit......I still have to pay 4875.00 when mt AOS comes around!!!

Faithkeeper please read my suggestion to Missymd above. You don't need a lawyer who's charging so much when there's help available.

July 2011 - Applied for VAWA with I-765 and I-485 with fee waivers - receipt date Aug 4, 2011
August 10th 2011 - Received NOA's for all 3, fee waivers accepted
August 26th 2011 - Received EAD
Early July 2012 - Re-applied for EAD based on pending I-485
Mid July 2012 - Received NOA for 2nd EAD
August 1st 2012 - Received EAD
Silence for a few more months
October 26th 2012 - I-360 approval
November 19th '12 - Case transferred

Hello Evereyone,

I wanna share my joy with you all. I got email from USCIS that my I-360 is approved today. It took exact 10 months and 5 days for the decision since they received my application.

Thank you so much for all your support.

I said here several times when you draft your affidavit you must state about the courtship. Having a child is not enough proof of bonafide marriage, you must submit documents showing commingling finances and commune residence. Affidavits from a third party is helpful . I am posting here part of two RFEs that two girls sent me this week, both have kids with the abusers and despite that they got RFEs.I am not representing them, but they contacted me because of the RFE.

Make sure you submit everything you can when you are filing form I-360. Every time you get an RFE your case will be delayed, sometimes 2/3months and sometimes even further.

Here is part of one RFE

"...Your affidavit is brief and provides few details regarding your courtship and relationship and marriage. An affidavit cannot be sole piece of evidence to establish your intent in the marriage. For immigration purposes, evidence of good faith must be demonstrated the commingling resources, shared financial responsibility often associate with a bonafide marriage.

The evidence submitted should cover the marital period.Submit evidence of courtship, wedding ceremony, residence and special events, proof of commingling finances and proof of commune residence".

Here is part of another RFE

" To prove domestic violence submit evidence that you sought refuge in a shelter for the abused, affidavits from third parties which corroborate your claim;

-Report or affidavits from police, judge, medical personnel, counselors or other agency personnel

Thank you so much Sandra. Indeed God is great.

You are right. Self affidavit is very important. Mine was of 58 pages dry.png but I explained everything in detail, every incident of abuse. I was bit worried because I didn't have any document for my husband's LPR status but my attorney mentioned that and requested USCIS to check his status and help me with my application.

I think he became citizen in 2012 end. Lets see what papers my Attorney get next week.

I thought you received request for biometrics on the basis of 485.!!!!
