Pure you can't change anymore.Working without work permit after filing vawa is ver serious.

I was under the impression that my old EAD was working and also they denied any public benefits for me when I had the prima facia.

So now what will be the penalty?they will not issue for me a green card and deny it?what should i do?

Pure are your EAD valid now? If yes great, and just go to the interview and do not give any information if they don't ask,do not sit there and start explaining why you worked without authorization, they may not ask you about it,but if they ask tell the truth and God knows how they will handle your case.

I had new EAD after i got my VAWA approved. But how they can expect us to feed ourselves if the DHS denied my application for anything even food stamps and said u have to be GC holder for 5 years to get any public benefits and all agencies turned me down.My journey was 2 years with no resources so how can i feed myself, rent, pay bills after all this domestic violence?

so do u recommend hiring a lawyer to attend the interview with me after long months?or what?

I guess some of us are in trouble, because I work for 2 month because my ead expire on july, ad they send me the new until september, but I send the aplication on April, now I'm so worried what is goin to happen on the interview, but like everybody how they want us to survive, pay rent and bills and I have a 5 year old boy to feed and I could 'n get food stamps or child support mi ex is in jail, so I have to work those 2 months without ead!

bright&brigther please pay attention to what I said "after filing Vawa is illegal to work without authorization". The same rule applies to AOS filers, before filling AOS or VAWA the time the alien worked is forgiven, BEFORE filing the petition, once you the alien files a petition with AOS he/she MUST not work without EAD.

chabelita most of the adjudicators do not ask any question regarding work or bonafide marriage , they basically ask to see original documents and that is it, but I saw many adjudicators that handled different.

I want to specify that I answer all questions according to the immigration Law, but AOS decision is discretionary then they may approve or not.

2 months only..u r an angel...i was left behind for 2 years..since I filed vawa feb 2012 and got approved june 2013 and just got new ead october 2013........... so from where USCIS expect us to get money for almost 2 years if every public benefit was denied?

Citragirl here is what it states the Immigration Law.

Form I-765, seeking employment authorization under 8 CFR 274a.12 in the following categories:

(c)(14)--Aliens granted deferred action, except those aliens who have been granted deferred action

Based upon (1) an approved Form I-360 (as a battered spouse or child of a U.S. citizen or lawful

permanent resident)

c)(9)--Aliens filing for adjustment of status (Form I-485)

You have to submit again using the right category.

Pure Uscis thinks if you do not have money to pay rent, food and bills then you should go to a shelter for victims of domestic violence. The shelters were created for those fleeing violence and for those who suffered mental cruelty as well. Then please do not give this excuse to an Immigration officer ok,. When we make a mistake we should take responsibility and not to blame others. You are blaming USCIS because you did not have a work permit when waiting to file AOS, well you had the option to file I-485 ,I-765 along with I-360 and you had the option to go to a shelter for victims of domestic violence. There is one thing in this Country you can't say " I did not have a place to go and food to eat".

I placed hundred of victims of mental abuse in shelters, just in November I helped 5 people victims of mental abuse to find shelter in California, Florida and Kentucky.

As I said before most of the adjudicators will not ask any question about your work at all, but they might ask tho. It's up to you if you want to have an attorney with you or not.
