Cielo14,

When did you file your I-765? How long did it take for approval?

citragirl in the NBC it will take just a few days ,sometimes 1/2 weeks. They will confirm if in your case everything is fine, and if it's not missing medical exam or I-864W etc...they will send your file to the local office.

I decided to post here about AOS interview, because since last week 6 girls from VJ contacted me and they had problems in their AOS interview, but it was because their attorney failed to explain basic things.Documents YOU MUST SHOW in your AOS INTERVIEW

- original birth certificate or certified copy, and respective translation;

-original marriage certificate or certified copy.

-valid passport or valid DL and proof you applied to get a passport;

-original divorce decree, if you have one;

-your child original birth certificate, if she/he is beneficiary of your Vawa and lives in the U.S;

-if you were arrested get CERTIFIED COURT DISPOSITION of your arrest;

-If you have a restraining order against YOU, then get a Court disposition as well

Make sure that your name is correct in all documents , and date and place of birth are correct as well.

I had an approved VAWA on July 2013 after being abused by US citizen and after that I applied for green card and EAD.I received EAD and my green card application I-485 left vermont office to chicago office since 10/2013 and till now I did not receive any letter fro interview.

My questions:

1-Is it possible I can receive my green card without interview?

2-the green card issue date will be this year or the date I submitted my original i-485 back in july 2011

3-If the green card issue date originated today had the date july 2011..so can i apply for citizenship on april 2014 or it is 3 y from date of approval of my VAWA?

Please help

1) No.

2) The approval date, which might be the date of the interview or it might be after that.

3) Three years from the "Resident Since" date on the green card, minus 90 days.

1-how long to get GC interview?

2-I read that soem people similar to my case got their GC having resident since"2 years back" depending on their old I-485 not the new one..is that true for me as well?

3-what can i do to amke the process faster?should i call chicago office or ask for infopass appointment or what?

1) It depends on the local office, since some are busier than others. New York City, for example, is extremely backlogged right now.

2) I'm not sure what you're asking here.

3) Chicago seems to be another office with a backlog, so it's unlikely there is anything you can do right now but wait.
