I had that issue I got update my case was transfered to NBC then a week later I got update saying it went to Uscis office but I recently went to an info pass appt and the rep Checked if it was at the office which is my local office and he said no it is still at NBC which is confusing. So I have no idea wat that update was about I guess it's just back to more waiting bit he told me the interview process at my local office takes anywhere from 6-9 months which is New York. So if it goes according to his prediction I have a few more months to wait but it's on God's timing. Good luck everyone

My office is the New York Office as well so I guess the same goes for me my son went for fingerprints I go next month (lawyer office made a mess of my I485 application long story!) Then we wait!!!

October is National Domestic Awareness month, and in remembrance of all domestic abuse survivors, and in honor of those murdered by their partners I decided to post here today. I became an advocate for victims of domestic violence in 1989.I never suffered domestic violence or witnessed any member of my family suffering domestic violence, but I think all of us have a "call in life" , and I have no doubt in my mind that my call is to help victims of domestic violence and extreme cruelty. I feel disgusted when I heard people saying to the victim "what did you do to provoke her/him?", abusers choose to abuse, the victim is not to be blamed, period. Long time ago I read in somewhere " Your life does not get better by chance,it gets better by change", because of that I tell you cry a river and move on, but do not stay in any abusive relationship not even 1 hour anymore, save yourself, save your children.

An estimated 1.5 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year, and each year 1.200 to 2.000 women are killed in the US by their intimate partner,80% of the women murdered were physically abused before the murder. Please don't be fooled by his/her promises of change, abusers DO NOT CHANGE.

I heard many people saying but Jesus command us to forgive, hey He said to forgive but it doesn't mean you have to let the abuser back into your life right?, if you are so noble to forgive your abuser then forgive him/her and let him/her go. If you bent on holding grudges, you may become so wrapped up in the past that you will not live your life to the fullest.Forgiveness is a blessing for the victims, not for the abusers.

I pray the Lord to watch over with care those abused and to comfort the family members of those killed by their partners. Look for your future with hope rather than despair.

Great write up SandraJ.. I was almost murdered and never knew there was help out there until I summoned courage and confided in a nurse. Most of this women don't know there is help cos the abusers gets into their heads and convince them there's no life outside of him. Determination is key. May God comfort the families of the murdered victims and continue to help those who survived. I still don't understand why a human being will find pleasure in victimizing another human and doesn't know he is sick and need help.

Hi Thank you invite me here sandranj. I have a lawyer but i can get correct information. I don't even Understand about VAWA, i need r help....

Can i apply VAWA with I-485→get EAD→get VAWA approved→Cancel I-485→apply I-485 again?

Or if i canceled I-485 one's then i can't apply I-485 under the VAWA?

chun you being brutally honest it's stupid this thing 485→get EAD→get VAWA approved→Cancel I-485→apply I-485 again, because as I said in your previous post once you cancel your I-485 your EAD is not valid anymore. If you cancel your I-485 you will be in trouble to explain to USCIS why you canceled your I-485 and want to file again.

What you are trying to do is to get a social security number and EAD and cancel your I-485, because you don't want to take the risk to have your I-485 denied and to be deported, MY DEAR YOUR WORK PERMIT WON'T BE VALID after canceling your I-485 ,then tell me why would you cancel your I-485 if you won't be able to use your work permit? You are trying to "play" with USCIS, forget about this nonsense idea or you will screw up your case big time.

I think the question chun now has is not related to the EAD (now) but that she filed the I-360 and I-485 and is scared of deportation. Therefore she wants to withdraw the I-485 so if the I-360 is denied there will be no deportation proceedings. Then if the I-360 is approved she can refile the I-485.

Chun correct me if I am wrong in my understanding.

Sorry but it's not my idea.. and yas, i didn't talk about only how to get EAD. I heard these things from my lawyer.

My lawyer told me that i have to choose apply VAWA with I-485 or apply only VAWA at this time. Also he said i can cancel my I-485. But i don't know what that mean.

So i tho maybe if i apply VAWA with I-485, I can get EAD soon but if i get AOS denial, they remove me.

If i choose another way, apply only VAWA then apply I-485 after i get VAWA approval, i can't get EAD for year but they don't remove if i get AOS denial.

Also i can choose that way, apply VAWA with I-485 then cancel it I-485 after get VAWA approval, apply I-485 again. If i choose this way, i can get EAD first, i can work until cancel I-485 + If i get VAWA denial, they don't remove me because i cancel it I-485? That's why my lawyer recommended cancel I-485?

I don't know that why i wanted ask...

I just want to get to my Status, I don't want to any Illegal things. I didn't Illegal work or nothing. I just waiting for apply VAWA almost year... But even my lawyer doesn't give me a correct information. I called every hot line but they said they can not answer because they are not lawyer or they don't know, now i don't know how can i get correct information n witch way should i choose.

I really sad about you thinking that i just trying to play with USCIS. I had Domestic Violence as a everyone, i trying to get new life. That's all...

Chun you the problem is that I posted in your thread about that 4 times, another lawyer(hypnos)gave you the same information, and other members said the same thing and you keep asking over and over same question.YOur lawyer is giving false information. If you don't want to risk to have your vawa denied and risk to be removed then don't file AOS
