You need to go a Clinical Psychologist for this. Google using "psychological evaluation" and you will find list of Doctors. Talk to them and tell them that you have gone through abuse and need to come for counselling and would need psychological evaluation.

See I just want to start the sessions as suggested by Sandra.

And I don't want to waste any efforts or time with wrong clinic/persons who are not able help me with my mental health sessions or not able to provide me proper documentation later.

I am trying to avoid the situation when i'll have couple of sessions, come back here

and you'll saying "My dear you gone to wrong place. Why didn't you ask here the people who already did this"

Just being little more pro-active to avoid mistakes. Life is already a mess why to add more.

I am going thru VAWA part 2 & VAWA part 3. I have just started here so it'll take some time for me to get good level of understanding.

That's what the forum is for to help each other out not to judges one an other .. I didn't have any psychological evaluation or any kind of counseling.. My vawa was approved with in 8 months.. ### a matter of fact I didn't even realized I was a victim of mental abuse until five years after we have been separated and we shared custody over our daughter having the ugly feeling in my stomach every Friday when I would have to dropp her off at her dads wondering what is he going to say today is he gonna brake my windshield again is he going to insult me again is he gonna tell the police I don't have a licen is he going to record me driving with out a license is he gonna take back to court and try to Takeuchi daughter away blaming I'm an illegal alien and I can't provide for her as he could been a USA citizen.. Is he going to keep her for a whole month and not let me get her back .. And I would have the cops tell me " we'll there is nothing we could do that's her dad and she is not I'm any danger sorry" wait and till the judge would order him to give her back to me as I am the only provider for her.. I got sick And tired of hot my self a restring order I now have full custody of our daughter. I send all the police report, court Transcripts and the mediators recommendation ordering him to go to 16 week anger management classes and he is not allowed to drink 48 prior to visiting with our daughter

I should've walk a way with in the first week we lived together when he broke my tv two closet doors and and the bathroom door but I was naive at the age of 18 and finally walked away from our marriage when I was 21 and matters became worst as all his so called loves turned into hate and blame because I left him his main focus was to make my life miserable it got to the point that I would have to call an officer to accompany me to pick our daughter up an even than he would still insult me

Now I can understand how people were able to handle & file by themselves for the complex process like VAWA.

Its all because of people like you out there who always encourage & help victims to go ahead no matter what.

If you have people who were aware of your situation, if he has abused you in front of anyone and they are ready to write affidavit for you. If you have gone for any domestic violence therapy or made a call to 911 or any shelter then those records.

My self affidavit was of 57 pages and my lawyer decided to send as it is. So it is upto you what all you want to cover.

U have to call the cops each an every single time u get threaten whether by phone or in person get the police report or incident report time and date officers name save it all court print outs if any

Get affidavits from atleast 2 or 3 folks who know of the abuse. Document stuffs. when writing your affidavit.DO NOT write to impress, let the truth sell itself. It does not been to be penned perfectly (mine wasn't, it was about 5 pages).

I have a question! My prima Facie is going to expire on the 5th . Already sent in a request for an extension.. Anyone who went through the same thing how long it takes?
