Back&Brighter, you can go to USCIS website and read VAWA appeal decisions. 99.9% got denied. Out of those 99.9% - about 75% were male applicants. And those 75% had pretty much the same situation. I-130+I-485-> Denial -> Removal Proceedings -> I-360 -> Denial -> Appeal -> Denial

Not tryin to scare anybody...just my 0,2.

Thanks Veekeem !

Could you pls provide the link as well? Are you also part of such situation?

I don't think these 99.9% guys were not aware of this statistics but still they went ahead and tried.

Sometimes you don't have anything left but to jump and keep floating until another rescue reaches.

Fortunately I am not into Removal Proceedings.

Sandra - Your comments please...

Hi,

I am a male applicant. I had filed my vawa case from Ohio after i-130 and 485 (abuse after filing papers).

i130 and 485 filed october 2nd

i360 filed Jan 22 (485 transferred to 360)

Prima facie and EAD received Feb 2nd.

I had submitted letters from a counsellor, marriage papers, affidavits from the landlord, neighbours and a friend alongwith a police clearance from my county and the state I lived before. Mental abuse and threatening was the main reason I filed for a i-360

My online status now shows a RFE sent on August 5. I got the Prima Facie extension 4 days after that, but havent received a RFE yet. I called customer service and escalated it, but they said they cannot reveal anything over the phone. Now I am scared that I might lose the RFE response time and my case will be dismissed.

My wife is a drug addict, and she is in jail twice now for some other felony not related to my case, but she hangs around with dangerous people as I noticed during our marriage. Infact she's been in jail twice since January for different felonies.

Can anyone guide me about how to proceed here? My main concerns are

1. I haven't got a RFE by mail yet, just a prima facie extension.

2. I moved out of Ohio for work for a month to Iowa, I wont be back until October 8th. Can an infopass appointment in Iowa solve my problem?

Yes, I also got used to see quick process to receive ead for other members. However, we gotta keep in mind that there was a wave of approvals around the time we got approved so, it wouldn't surprise me that the workload increased.

Yeah Cielo, maybe high workload which is why its getting delayed. I was expecting my EAD in 2 weeks lol after reading so many people here got it in that time frame so it hurts :(. But lets keep patience. I am sure when you get it mine would be on the way too :D

yes dohenere we need keep patience and I am sure too that if you get firts your EAD, it mine would be on the way too :D...

United we stand Cielo :)

So, what is exactly & what they do in psychological evaluation and counseling ?

Could somebody pls let me know how to get psychological evaluation done step-wise?

I mean where I need to go and to whom I need to see?

psychological evaluation and counseling will be done at different places?

Thanks !

How many times do you need to be told to read the thread?

You will find many answers. That's what I did way before starting asking Sandra.

Looks like you want to be extremely prepared. True victims don't need to pose help and sources flow.

You are giving the wrong impression to me so I will not have further contact with you.

Back &Brighter you have many question hun, yes Uscis still can put you in removal proceeding due your previous I-485 denial, and in case you get a Notice to appear in Court GO TO THE COURT! and take copy of the prima facie, the Judge will postpone your removal until adjudication of your case.

Vawa it may take 9 months to 12 months. Vawa Unit DOES NOT interview before adjudication of the case. If your Vawa is approved you will attend AOS interview. You have to explain everything through papers, and if they approve your Vawa you may be questioned about your bonafide marriage. I suggest you take this weekend to read everything in the VAWA thread part 3 and 2, because you will find MANY information, including everything you just asked.

See I just want to start the sessions as suggested by Sandra.

And I don't want to waste any efforts or time with wrong clinic/persons who are not able help me with my mental health sessions or not able to provide me proper documentation later.

I am trying to avoid the situation when i'll have couple of sessions, come back here

and you'll saying "My dear you gone to wrong place. Why didn't you ask here the people who already did this" smile.png

Just being little more pro-active to avoid mistakes. Life is already a mess why to add more.

I am going thru VAWA part 2 & VAWA part 3. I have just started here so it'll take some time for me to get good level of understanding.

I appreciate you being member of this forum !

Silly of me, sometimes I ask stupid question headbonk.gif
