Hello guys,

I have some questions actually I need second point of view of my thoughts.

I started I-130 petition of my spouce, which was accepted.

My first question is - the priority date is the acceptance date(in other words - in case everything is right with the documents - the date they are received by USCIS).

I noticed something that I really really liked in the u[pcoming visa bulettin:

"

D. VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS (August - October)

FAMILY-sponsored categories (potential monthly movement)

F2A: Could become “Current” at some point during the coming months.

"

My main question to you is:

As far as I understand it correctly. With other words if that happen. There will be no diference in case I-130 is filled by U.S citizen or green card holder. Or let me put it in oder words - The entire process will be under 1 year with almost no waiting period. Correct?

The critical date will be whether YOUR priority date is current WHEN your petition is approved. Yes, if by the time your petition is approved, your priority date is current for your preference category and your spouse's country of origin, your process will proceed on the same timeline as for the spouse of a US Citizen. Your actual progress through the National Visa Center will depend on things YOU do, not just the priority date being current.

as I understand it a 130 filed by a lpr (green card holder) takes around two years.. for a citizen, less than a year

Hey Stevie: If F2A become current. Then there will be no waiting period for Permanent Residents petitioning spouces or children under 21. Main diference between US.Citizen sponsoring and Green Card holder sponsoring is exactly that.

Cross fingers, because it's just aint OK families to be separeted for more than a year if you ask me. Even 1 year is a way long.
