If you pay the $88 then you are doing the wrong thing. I suggest you get a lawyer to help you with the steps.

DId you send the I-485 yet?

Well, I was studying all the papers they sent, and found out that you should pay the 88 UNLESS you intend to adjust status through USCIS...and in that case you should NOT PAY, and contact NVC first. Actually I was preparing my I-485 package.

So, im supposed to assign an agent to keep the communication with NVC (im intending to act as my own agent), and ask them about the steps to take, since im adjusting my status...no?

No. No NVC. no correspondence with them.

We already told you what to do. If you forgot, consider getting a lawyer for help.

LOL...ok, got it.

I called them...told them I was intending to adjust status through USCIS, so they said I just needed to send them an email informing that (like officially), with my NVC Case number, and so they would release my case to USCIS, so I could carry on that way, through USCIS. That's all. That I dont need to pay those $88, nor assign an agent to communicate with them, since i was using this other channel.

When you send your I-485 with a copy of the approval notice from I-130, USCIS will retrieve the I-130 automatically. You do nothing with NVC.

No, not at all.

You should not be asking any one about the steps to take, on either path.

Instead, you should be reading the Lingche wiki entry on one path,

then GUIDE2 in the guides section for the other path.

This 'asking about the steps' has been very damaging to you, so far, in terms of time. Why to repeat it?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
