My finance is also Israeli. I currently live here with him near Haifa. The only expedite I have seen approved based on the conflict within this region was a person from Syria (they didn't even apply for an expedite it was just given to them). Heres to a quick NOA2!!!!! bc/ the wait for an appiontment at the Jerusalem consulate takes a while. My attorney said the average for Jerusalem is at least 3 months but on VJ it shows longer (one couple waited 5 months for an interview!!!!!) ranting33va.gif

I also heard about the Syrian couple. Since there isn't an actual state of war in Israel, I'm not surprised mine was denied, although it was worth a shot.

Thanks for the info on the appointment times for Jerusalem. I had no idea it took so long. Do you know if the embassy in Tel Aviv handles K-1 visa interviews? My fiance went there for her interview for a tourist visa and only had to wait a few weeks.

TLV doesn't handle K-1 visas but it's good news in a way bc TLV are very difficult and rude according to everyone I have heard from including my fiance. However, the JER consulate are very polite and easy in the interview but difficult to deal with when sending in all of the documents. My attorney told us that we should expect to send in our packets to the consulate several times bc "they lose things" a lot...

Our experiences weren't too bad with TLV. My fiance applied for a tourist visa twice. The first time she was denied, but they weren't rude. The second time we had my congressman write a letter of support for her saying she would not overstay and the interviewer looked at the letter and approved her. She said he was nice. I'll keep that in mind about Jerusalem. Maybe I'll employ a similar tactic of having my congressman try to speed up the process.

THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH ASKING FOR A EXPEDITE IS......................IF IT IS DENIED, YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO APPEAL....im not taking that chance, I rather wait my turn....

Appeal what? An expedite is only a request (based on certain criteria) to have your individual case sped up and placed in "front of the line" so to speak.

Posted

If everyone expedites then no one expedites.

Expedites are for serious, emergent situations (such as the death of a close family member overseas), not just to jump to the front of the line and take someone else's spot for yourself.

Sorry about that. I am still trying to figure out how this site work. just join.

For my country of nationality I do not think all the people on this forum use their real name, pictures and country of origin.

For my "wife" my case was a bit special since I were married traditionally , according to the custom of my country, unfortunately did not have a valid marriage certificate. Also had a I130 denied because of that.

So you are not from the UK??

Why are you hiding where you are from? Makes no sense and you will for sure not get the correct answers if you won't tell us where you are from.

And regarding expediting....maybe you should read up on it a little more yes?

Yes...that is correct cheeks, but if you request a expedite, and they dobt approve it...u have no chance to appeal your denial...you have to just start all over again and send ib your i129f..........

If you request an expedite, and they deny it, only the expedite is denied, not your whole case. Your petition still is in line to be reviewed. In other words, after an expedite denial you do not send in a whole new petition.

I think you misunderstand what an expedite request is. If you have a situation that applies to the criteria for an expedite, you may request one by contacting the USCIS. They will want to see evidence to prove why you need the expedite in order to grant it. If they deny the expedite, nothing happens other than you continue to wait with everyone else. There is nothing to appeal, and no reason at all you would need to file a new I-129F.

Thats what a uscis spokesman said to me....

Then you stop listening to the people that work at the USCIS misinformation call center. They are not immigration officers. They answer the phone and read from scripts. They only know basic information, but instead of simply stating when they do not know the answer to something, they tend to make one up. Sometimes they give out very bad, seriously incorrect information.
