You all there, do you know you can request for your case to be expedite?

Expedite Criteria per USCIS:

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. The criteria are as follows:

Severe financial loss to company or individual
Extreme emergent situation
Humanitarian situation
Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States
Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)
USCIS error
Compelling interest of USCIS
Note: Discretionary expedite requests for petitions and applications that have Premium Processing Service available will not be considered for expedite processing. The only exception is when the petitioner is a not-for-profit organization designated by the Internal Revenue Service. For information regarding premium processing, please refer to the premium processing webpage.

Exptreme emergent situation cann apply to everyone. just need to proove that you would lost a huge amount ofmoney or that ur fiancee back home is in danger

They do not apply to everyone. Not everyone is in an extreme emergent situation. Only a small amount of people would fit into one of the categories for expedition. You must prove to the USCIS why you deserve to have your petition expedited. Not everyone that asks for an expedite gets one.

Sorry about that. I am still trying to figure out how this site work. just join.

For my country of nationality I do not think all the people on this forum use their real name, pictures and country of origin.

For my "wife" my case was a bit special since I were married traditionally , according to the custom of my country, unfortunately did not have a valid marriage certificate. Also had a I130 denied because of that.

I think you are misunderstanding what I wrote. I was responding to your statement that, "Exptreme emergent situation cann apply to everyone"

No, it can't and does not apply to everyone. Not everyone has a reason/need for an expedite. Sure, anyone can try and ask for an expedite, but not everyone is eligible and not everyone will be approved. Just because you had a situation and the evidence you provided was approved by whomever reviewed your personal case, does not mean everyone meets the requirements for an expedite.

And no, not everyone uses their real names, but the country designated in your profile is supposed to be that of the country the intending immigrant currently lives and is immigrating to the US from(or already did immigrate from).

Doesn't sound like the OP had an expedite anyway (nor a successful application, so far).

Brilliant thread. Yeah, bet no one around here ever thought of trying to expedite their petition! eb0dfafc.gif

There was a VJ member who last week went to her senator and he expedited her case for her because of her waiting almost 5 months...hmmmmmm, only 5 months and she got expedited.

Im thinking that it depends on who you get when you ask for expedition...Just sayin...

I applied for expedited processing about a month ago due to an extreme urgent situation. My fiance lives in Israel and I cited the escalation of cross-border fighting between Syria and Israel as well as rising tensions in the region as the reason. My request was denied. Perhaps I should have cited a humanitarian situation instead, oh well. By the time I can submit another expedite request, hopefully I'll have received my NOA2.

A senator cannot make a case move along faster or get an expedite for you. Perhaps the senator helped them to put in a service request for being outside the normal processing times. Though if they had not even been waiting 5 months yet, that seems 'off' and odd.

Hmm, I might as well try this, as there is nothing to lose. I'll go the route of showing financial hardship by having to go to her interview during the holidays, when plane tickets are more expensive, her flying back during then, and me having to take off work to do so, rather than sooner.

I have applied for an expedite twice under medical and financial. I have attempted to provide multiple letters from multiple American doctors who are stating for medical reasons that we should be expediated. Both times, USCIS has denied me without looking at the supporting documents or asking for further details... It doesn't work well even if it is a serious situation apparently or at least thats my intrepretation. We contacted my senator for help and am hoping that he is helpful.

My finance is also Israeli. I currently live here with him near Haifa. The only expedite I have seen approved based on the conflict within this region was a person from Syria (they didn't even apply for an expedite it was just given to them). Heres to a quick NOA2!!!!! bc/ the wait for an appiontment at the Jerusalem consulate takes a while. My attorney said the average for Jerusalem is at least 3 months but on VJ it shows longer (one couple waited 5 months for an interview!!!!!) ranting33va.gif
