Hi, everyone. I am new and this is my first post here. This website is awesome, it has helped me so much!

I am still a little confused about the whole AOS process and would like to have some answers.

My case: I came to the states in 2010 as an Au Pair, went back home in 2012, came back to the US last August on an F-1 visa.

Got married two weeks ago, in the States.

We started filling the papers based on the guide, and I know the process is called AOS, but what is IR1/CR1? And K3? They are all spouse visa, am I under any of those categories?

My other question is: I am filling i-130/i-485 with i-864. I saw somewhere online that I need a barcoded cover sheet that the NVC will send me.

Is that part of my process too?

I have looked everywhere and can't understand this!

Thanks in advance! smile.png

In reference to the I-864 (Affidavit of Support), this one I do know requires a bar coded cover sheet since I just did it today. When you pay your AOS fee online you print up a Document Cover Sheet (barcoded) to send in with your I-864.

You don't have your timeline set up so I am not sure at what stage of the process you are at. Have you already gone through the USCIS? or are you just beginning your petition?

They are adjusting status from within the US.

What you and I did is different.

*I am going to request a mod move this post to adjusting status from a student visa section
