Like I've said, that post was merely a guess. I thought perhaps the ranters were not very comfortable with amriki bhai around so they took a break from posting while he was there. I'm also an outsider there and they've been friendly. I'm even an outsider in this thread because I don't post in P&R. Everyone's cool. There is no such thing on VJ as "Please go away. This is my thread and I don't want you here." That's a TOS violation. You can say that in your mind but you're not encouraged to post that.
