Opinions please.

We went to a high end steakhouse for our anniversary dinner Sat night. I got an assorted seafood plate called Zuppa di Pesce that included the meat of 1/2 lobster in the dish. When my plate came it had the empty carcass of 1/2 lobster sitting on top of the food. I guess that's to show me that they put 1/2 lobster in my meal, but I thought it was tacky and it kind of turned me off. What would you think?

Also my wife got a filet mignon and lobster combo with the lobster to be over fettucine carbonara. Instead the lobster and fettucine came mixed together in a martini glass. #######, a martini glass for pasta and lobster?

What say ye fine diners?

I can't stand pretentiousness and preciousness. If you're trying to show me how witty, clever, important or rich you are, you're probably none of those adjectives or a total arriviste.

It was an extra reach to try and be fancy, and they failed. You know if you don't like the way something looks, it's going to affect the way it tastes too and it did, we both thought the fettucine and lobster was bland at best. It's too bad because her filet was cooked to perfection and my seafood tasted great, but the presentation ruined it for both of us. On a good note, I did complain to the manager about the lobster carcass when he came by to ask if everything was alright and he ended up comping our dessert which was two kick ### cannolis, and they were terrific.
