Nobody should be giving something like Valium to their pets without the supervision of a qualified vet.

Sure, Penny, that's one opinion. There are others, and that's ok ;)

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

No, that's THE opinion. To give a pet something like Valium without consulting with a professional first is stupid and dangerous.

It can cause many negative side effects such as liver failure. If you're going to start giving Valium to a pet, they should have their bloodwork done before AND after.

Darnell suggesting someone give a cat some valium on their own for a trip to the vet is one of the stupidest things he's ever said.

Well, if'n you'd like some homeopathic stuff, Valerian is just as useful.

How about just taking the cat out a few times in the carrier to places it might like. The cat is stressed because every time it gets put in the carrier, or sees the vet, it is an unpleasant experience. Maybe just drop by the vet once in a while, and the vet just says, "Hello!" instead of poking and prodding and sticking needles into it.

Ya, it's the Owner that's stressing the cat.

So, must to shift the habits and attitude of the owner, to remove the cat's stress.

She was in that carrier for an entire road trip to Canada! It's the vet's office that she doesn't like. She's been there before when we've picked up our other cat, or we stopped in with some donations to the humane society. Not every trip there has been for her to see the vet.

She likes the carrier so much she didn't want to get out of it. But when we've taken her other places in it, she's been fine.

And, as usual, you're clueless.
