It was actually just a really simple letter IMO. I didn't want to make demands when we hadn't been waiting that long.

We just mentioned how far behind Vermont was, and the backlog, and that we were getting worried that we would be kept waiting 7 or 8 months like others have. We then asked if they would be able to look into things on our behalf, and threw in the Privacy Release form just in case.

We don't even know if it was caused by the letter or if it was just coincidence. But I honestly just expected to get a reply saying "You're still within processing times, be patient."

That is really promising--I filed in January and still waiting--Im trying to be patient but I may have to send a note to my Congressman as well!

I've had a couple of people message me so I thought I'd make a thread.

Our petition at Vermont has just been approved - in 3 months, 1 week 6 days!

I'm in disbelief, I think I've only just stopped shaking. I honestly didn't expect to hear anything for another 2 months at the earliest.

While we did send letters to our Congressman and Senators, we only did it on Friday. And according to the USPS tracking, they arrived Saturday. We haven't heard back from any of them yet, so I don't know if that affected anything or if we were just lucky.

My Fiance and I are over the moon, but I can't help feel bad for all those who have been waiting much longer than us. This system is so unfair. All I can suggest is that you contact Congressman and Senators, even if you are within processing time.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I only have two questions. Who did you bribe, and why did you write your congressmen after only three months?!?!? Congrats nonetheless, and best wishes to you both in the rest of your journey!
