Clearing up the Same Day Filing Question

Having recieved Packet 3 in the mail today (YAHOO!) and having a husband who works with computers I've had the opportunity to read through a lot of the packet this evening. In regards to the same day filing question that I posted earlier - according to the packet those who live in WA, VIC, SA, QLD, NT, & TAS may file on the same day. (both the USC's petitions and the Australian's visa application) HOWEVER, for those who live in NSW and ACT, we must file the USC's petitions ahead of the interview date on a Thursday walk-in.

So there's the answer, folks! Looks like I'm flying in on a random Thursday to hand in paper work!! Anybody else out there hold on to United's E-Fairs from about 2 weeks ago when tickets were something like $777 from Seattle to Sydney? I had lost hope of flying in March or April at that point and deleted the email . . . ah well . . .

2/6/06 I-130 mailed

2/7/06 I-130 rcvd by NSC, according to FedEx

2/23/06 Discovered DCF option

2/25/06 Sent rqst for Packet to Sydney consulate

2/27/06 I-797C rcvd = rejected due to insufficient funds

2/27/06 Syd Cons. responded

3/2/06 Packet 3 Received

3/6/06 Police check filed

3/9/06 X-Ray completed/Physical completed/ Vaccination & bloodwork started

3/12/06 US 2005 taxes done: Refund pays for the plane ticket!!

3/14/06 DS-230 mailed

3/16/06 I-864 notarized

3/20/06 Medical update = No Vaccines Needed

3/22/06 Police Report Received

3/26/06 Flight to Sydney

3/30/06 I-130 & I-864 Approved!

4/11/06 Visa Interview Scheduled

Good that you got that sorted out. Ya see you have paved the way for others from Sydney now doing DCF. Now they will know. Its almost strange.....the biggest city in Australia and there is hardly anyone from here. Lots of Adelaidians though.

Who knows, hopefully you'll be in the States by then, but if you're in Sydney when I drop in, perhaps we could meet up to celebrate! All things are possible!

I hope we're still meeting up if you aren't too busy!!!!

March 24th :) after the interview!! Champers is def. in order!

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Yah I will be there :dance: Unfortunately I missed Chicky's hubby's interview last week. I felt so bad but in the end I just couldnt make it...with one thing and another going on with family at the time. I have it in my diary Karo :thumbs:
