The NRA is about as white male an organization as you can find, although the NRA will not release that sort of demographic information, so there are no hard numbers. However,

Whatever, maybe they have their own gun groups. Many non-whites have guns. Try to take one away from a black guy in the hood or an arab in syria. The OP wasn't even about the NRA. The fact that this suggests white gun advocates only have guns because of feelings of inferiority is simplifying the issue. Some do, you're right.

Stupidity, more than anything else, or call it basic territorial instinct, which is still stupid. It's not only blacks doing it either - I grew up in Los Angeles. We had gangs of all stripes and colors. In the San Fernando Valley, it was Mexicans and biker gangs, long before I ever heard of Crypts and Bloods. All we "normal" white kids wanted to do was drive up and down Van Nuys Boulevard on Wednesdays, and hold street races in the early morning hours every Sunday.
