I can't stop thinking about two stroke engines thanks to OnMyWay.

So while doing the yard not only did I run out of 2-Stroke gas (none left in the container), but the weed whacker (no pun intended) ran out of string.. So now I have to go to Lowes.. But first I went to my Chase Sapphire account then used it to bounce to the points mall which is currently paying 5 to 1 points for lowes plus 2 points for the card.. I buy 20 bags of bark mulch, some 2-stroke oil, and line for the whacker and a few tools.. I tell my wife (who has been sweeping out the garage) that I just earned us almost 1,000 bonus rewards points while only spending about 150 bucks.. She says "Oh my god! nobody knows how to earn travel points like white guys!! that is so HOT!" yeah...

So maybe the Whacker is the phallus... those bonus points.. definitely the lubricant.

I would ask how the article defined the group, i beleive it said "Many White American Men" .. when referring to "gun nutters with sexual inadequacy". Perhaps they can't tell the difference?

Not all white men lack the confidence to step outside their home and engage the rest of humanity without packing a phallus other than the one God endowed them with. The author suggests there is a subgroup of sexually insecure gun worshipers that intersect with those that feel entitled to certain privileges, just because they are white and male.

I was commenting on the article that you posted at the top of this post... What article are you talking about? The one you posted does not deserve the benefit you are giving it.

You can feel at least temporarily reassured when a long-barreled assault weapon compensates for just another average manhood; it's an irresistable testosterone high to the beleaguered white male.

Call this Freudian psychobabble analysis, but when you add it into the mix of just angry white males who want their guns to show that they are still top dog on the political, social and marital hierarchy, you got a good percentage of the psychologically need gun owners. A gun, particularly assault weapons and lethal militarized handguns, are at least two things: a prosthetic ####### and a sign that even unemployed white guys still rule the Western World and sit at the head of the kitchen table.

We're talking about a dying patriarchy making a last stand with the ownership and brandishing of weapons that provide the semblance of ultimate power over life and death.

Sure, there is the rapidly decreasing tradition and understandable ritual of hunting in rural areas, particularly for those who actually need the meat because of near poverty. And there are handgun target shooters who truly regard handguns as a sport -- which they are in some cases. But these white men are a minority in a culture war that causes even elected Democrats to tremble in fear at voting on a gun control measure, even a law that might aid police in apprehending criminals, but the gun lobby opposes it for some obscure reason to rally their supporters around.

The NRA is about as white male an organization as you can find, although the NRA will not release that sort of demographic information, so there are no hard numbers. However,

I will readily admit that the NRA has not made any significant progress or inroads towards increasing the number of black people in the organization and at its annual conventions. My attendance at the conference last week in St. Louis was my second NRA national convention. By my own personal accounting, I met twelve (12) black persons in attendance at the conference in St. Louis. I may have missed a few but not many.

Previously, I had attended the 2010 meeting in Charlotte. Sadly, I must report that both aforementioned events lacked significant participation by black people.

Now that’s what I call understatement. Twelve African Americans at a convention with over 73,700 attendees is as good an example of the RITZ (Round It To Zero) principle as you’re going to get (today). Rick reckons he knows why African Americans are staying away from the NRA in droves.

A decorated, retired Navy SEAL will live out his post-military career as a her, after undergoing gender-changing procedures that’ll finally allow the “Warrior Princess” to live like she’s always wanted, according to the vet’s new book.

Chris Beck — a member of SEAL Team 6, the famed unit that killed Osama bin Laden — served for 20 years and now lives as Kristin Beck, she chronicled in her biography “Warrior Princess.”

Beck had always wanted to live as a woman, but managed to suppress those thoughts due to the demands of a SEAL’s busy, life-and-death career.

“For years Chris had turned off his sexuality like a light switch and lived as a warrior, consumed with the battle — living basically asexual,” according to the book penned by Beck and co-author Anne Speckhard.

“For Chris, the other SEALs were brothers and in the man's man warrior lifestyle, even if he had wanted to entertain sexual thoughts, there really was never any time to be thinking too much about sexuality.”

The heavily decorated Beck, with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, retired several months before the famed SEAL Team 6 raid that killed the world’s most notorious terrorist.

Beck’s urge to live as a woman wasn’t a passing fancy, according to her co-author.

"Chris really wanted to be a girl and felt that she was a girl and consolidated that identity very early on in childhood," Speckhard told ABC News.

Beck’s retirement from military life was the perfect time to make the big switch.

"Now seemed the right time to go for it — to make his body match his identity — or at least start by dressing like a woman in his regular life,” according to “Warrior Princess."

Beck wrote in her book’s preface that she hopes to inspire young people struggling with the same issues.

Beck wants "to reach out to all of the younger generation and encourage you to live your life fully and to treat each other with compassion, be good to each other, especially in your own backyard (where it be high school or your community),” according to the book.

The retired warrior also wants to reach out to all vets, who are striving to find peace in their troubled lives. She’s opened a “peace garden” outside her St. Petersburg, Fla., to train vets gardening and landscaping.

“Too many of my comrades are returning from the battlegrounds of Iraq and Afghanistan and do not find peace and worse are committing suicide,” Beck wrote on her group’s Web site Healing Grounds under her old name “Chris.”

“Sitting in my back yard or at my fishpond I no longer feel anger, resentment or depression; I feel peace. I want to give this option of a `peace garden’ to my veteran brothers and sisters. We fought on the battlegrounds for freedom and the American way of life, now it’s time to be welcomed home to a 'Healing Ground.'”

I saw that interview last night. Interesting, and very courageous, in the best tradition of the members of the armed forces of the United States. Anybody can post an idiotic political graphic they found on Facebook, but this is real.
