I think you should be asking for an explanation, Rebecca. Whilst I am pleased for the person that completed the AOS process in such a short time, I am like you, I want to know why others take years.

If my son's AOS application had been processed in 44 days we would not be going through the hell we are now. We would not have had to spend tens of thousands of dollars fighting their decision to deport my son, when he has done nothing wrong.

We too have been treated terribly by the USCIS - they even tried to use the fact that I was now a USC myself as another reason to deny my son. Saying that he can't adjust as the son of a fiance, as I was no longer a fiance. No sh*t! It has only taken them over 3 years to decide they want to deny his application - the rest of the family are now USC's!

My husband, who is a USC, has been spoken to like some kind of idiot by USCIS officials. He is by no means an idiot - the problem is that he is more intelligent than most of them and they don't like it when he points out when they are wrong (and can prove it!)

My son is in limbo still here, on his 4th EAD. The latest insult came from the Transportation Security Administration who said that because of his "status" he is considered to pose a security threat!!!

I hate dealing with the USCIS - they mess with people's lives and they are not accountable to anyone. When families go through the kind of ####### that Rebecca and I have been through, you can't help but be p*ssed off when you hear of someone getting through it in 44 days, when we are still waiting....years after filing!

It isn't right! Let us know Rebecca if you actually get an answer from anyone. I would love to hear what they have to say about this.

G.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I've sat and stewed on this for 24 hours.

I realize that I am probably about to offend you, rhiadraiss, and I'm sorry if you take this personally. It's not meant to be that way.

How can USCIS process fingerprints, execute security clearance, and issue a greencard to an immigrant from a high-fraud post with no interview in 44 days? Where is the reasoning in that? Has the entire system been dumped on its behind?

USCIS owes me an explanation.

You did not offend me at all , you better call the USCIS and asked them why the timeline for AOS are not the same .

I arrived here in FL last July 11,2006 and we got married Sept.03 ,2006 and I mailed my application last Oct.09,2006 .

If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

2nd email CRIS sent to me 11/23/06

Receipt Number: msc07011****

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On November 23, 2006, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. Wow, that is really unbelievable. You are soooooooo lucky.

I did not recieved any RFE , may be yours is on the way now too.

USCIS owes me an explanation.

*I'm not saying that the OP is in a fake marriage, but the "world of filipinas" website link is a bit suspicious to say the least.

WORLD OF FILIPINAS IS NOT DATING WEBSITE , ITS A SITE WERE MOST MEMBERS ARE FILIPINA ENGAGED OR MARRIED TO A FOREIGNER.

WE ARE MORE ON SHARING IDEAS ON VISA PROCESSING , INTERVIEW AND AOS .

WE SHARED THERE THE MARRIED LIFE , LDR , TRAVEL AND LIFE TO NEW COUNTRY . WE TALK ABOUT RELIGION AND RAISING KIDS AS WELL .

There is a saying that "Dont judge the book by its cover" so better to read what is inside the website before you make comment .

Then your front page description is not very good.... I read it and it would make me think its a place to find out how to find a wife....

Then thats a challenge ! How you can understand one thing if you will not read the other part ???

It is also like knowing one person , dont just look the physical side of one person but a look what is inside of him /her too, because there is always something behind .

Websites and people are two diffrent things.... If I go to a website and I read what is one the front page of yours I would think it was a site for people looking for a wife from the philipines and I would not go any further....

How did USCIS mistreat your husband?

take a look at our timeline.

10 months between filing and our interview.

7 months stuck in FBI name check.

twice denied the opportunity to go to college because he was "out of status" and couldn't qualify for financial aid or student loans.

we've been unable to qualify for a mortgage.

he's been unable to work and contribute to our household income.

yet, if he'd entered illegally, he would have politicians lining up to hand him instant resident status, not to mention handing out welfare, medicaid, pell grants, in-state tuition, food stamps, section 8 housing...shall i continue??

it's ridiculous that those who follow the rules and do everything the right way spend years and thousands of dollars along the way, at all times being treated as if the ultimate goal of USCIS were to see just how miserable they could make the transition to making the US their home. :ranting:

and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

I don't yet :) Just waiting for my NOA. I'm hoping it goes smoothly for us too. We've already waited over a year to file, just because we were not sure if we wanted to live in Canada or the US.

It'll be nice to finally be out of limbo.
