How long have you been living in PA?

I'm not sure if there's a minimum time frame, but you're still a resident as long as you live there.

Don't let people treat you differently just because you aren't a citizen.

Been here since 2010 ,and to be honest it's not the first time that people treat me differently because I am not from here,i live in a small country side town but i learn that i is better to ignore them because i m better person .Thank you for your advice !!

Well my point is that you've still been over charged and that's discrimination.

She certainly was overcharged. She should have been charged as a resident, if she's been in PA since 2010. And yes, they're discriminating based on immigration status, plus they had no right to ask for the green card to begin with. There should definitely be a complaint made about the place that did this, as well as a refund.

"You qualify for a RESIDENT fishing license if you are a bona fide resident of Pennsylvania. When purchasing a resident fishing license, you must show

proof of permanent residency by presenting one of the following documents:

  1. valid PA driver’s license
  2. a valid non-driver photo identification card
  3. a previous year’s PA state income tax return showing proof of payment of personal income tax as a resident of PA
  4. a previous year’s local earned income tax return showing tax paid to a PA municipality
  5. a current PA voter registration card.

so today we went to get fishing licenses ,we live in pa,and we have such great natural parks and lakes is just so nice and relaxing ...my husband license was 23$ and mine was 156$ because i m not a citizen ,i have my 2 years gc and just sent my roc in,the ppl were very rude and stupid he was holding my gc and ask me can i give him my gc and i said you have it and he said these is a permanent resident card..i said yes is a gc...he said ahh yes is green...daaaaa!!! ok....then he ask me when are you going to be a citizen i said after 2 more years or when i decide to...he said ohh i m sorry mam but your license will be very expensive ..ok i just want to go fishing and have fun with my boo..just do it...and he said ohh wait i need assistance not really sure how to process these gc...#######..i pay taxes like my husband does why i need to pay more for a fishing license ?

If you are a resident of that state it shouldn't matter if you are a citizen or not. The higher prices are for non-residents. At least that's the way I understand it.

No its not discrimination. Its up to the person buying the license to prove in state residence. With a state ID. Out of state hunting and fishing is big business. And all people are treated the same. There's one state ID and everything else don't apply. Do it right the first time or do it right the second time.

End of story.
