Good day guys,

I'm from Nigeria and sequel to some of my post here, I have eventually gotten married to my wife in tampa. I flew to tampa with my family on my B1/B2 visa. My problem is that my B1/B2 visa is going to expire in August.

I work for an airline, so I travel back and forth. My wife is scared of airplanes, so that means I have to do the 16hrs flight back and forth once a month to see her. We are about to beging the process of the CR1 visa, my question is that if we start the process this month (june) would I be able to renew my B1/B2 visa when it expires in August, and if I can renew my visa, would I still be allowed to visit her in the US pending with my CR1 visa is being processed.

I need direction on this please, anyone

I don't think you would be able to renew the travel visa after you started the Immigration visa process. And after Augusy, you wouldn't be able to visit her without that travel visa or until your immigration visa is approved.

This is not true. You can renew your Visitor Visa at anytime just like you originally got it showing proof of return and all. Of course having an active petition in the system and they will see that can make it harder and can also get your denied at the border there is always a risk when u have a petition.

Even if you applied before you file the I-130 petition you will be asked who do you know in the US you have to say yoru wife dear. Petition or know they know you have someone and can immigrate and will at some time. If you lie that can jack you up and ban you for years.

But since you have already shown you can obey the law and working for airline does help you there's no reason why. Just apply when its time.

And whatever you do never ever overstay your visa time okay. Congratulations. Nice to see someone from Nigeria getting a Visitor Visa.
