Translation: Emails

Hello everyone, I don't seem to find an accurate answer to my question searching online or on the forums.

My husband and I have exchanged several emails, mostly in English, but sometimes we mix some odd Spanish words on those emails.

I was thinking on translating those words myself, writing with a pencil on the same email the word in English (like with an arrow connecting both words).

All of them are short words or phrases like “I love you” "My life” and so on. I'm not sure if this will be confussing to them or it will make the things easy to read.

I was also thinking to add a cover letter with a summary of the emails where I will state that I’m fluent in English and Spanish.

I have any other foreign document translated by a Sworn Certified Translator.

What do you think please? Any advice?

as for translations, they don't have to be done by a certified translator, they just have to be attested to as being a valid translation

I was just thinking... What if I just send some prints outs of wordreference.com translations of the most important words that are in Spanish? I feel that it would be risky for me to state that I have translated those words, but if I just leave them like they are, I'm still afraid that the package will be rejected due to those foreign non translated words.

OP, my two cents is this, translating emails is an unecessary waste of time. There is no requirement to do so and if anything, it shows you can communicate with each other in the beneficiary's primary language (to a degree).

I didn't translate emails, messages, chat logs, etc, and was never asked to provide any.

I translated some of our emails and chats - but I don't think it is necessary. I have a friend who recently had her K-1 visa approved and she didnt translate her chats or emails.

I read somewhere that those things aren't necessarily looked at until the case reaches your local embassy. It was in a post here on VJ so you might try to search for that. Anyway, the bottom line was emails, chats, don't waste time translating them, it's unnecessary.

I redacted all the conversations in the email. In Gmail, I filtered all the chats from my wife, and then took screen shots at 6 month's frequency, Only my wife's name, date, my name etc were shown. If USCIS likes to read, they can ask NSA and google will be more than happy to give it to them.
