hello everyone! can i get a green card without leaving? here is my story:

i came in the US in 1985 on a b2 visa (6 month stay allowed)

overstayed my visa

husband came to the US in 1989

we met in 1993

he became a US citizen on JAN 18 2002

we married on APR 19 2002

we have 2 children born in 1998 & 2000

can i get a green card even though we waited a few months to get married because i wanted to wait until he became a citizen?

the marriage is bona fide because we have 2 kids together

Yes. Because your hubby is a USC your overstay will be forgiven. Do not try to use advance parole as you would get a ban. Stay in the US until you have a green card in hand

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

ok but waiting to get married until he became a citizen wont be a little suspicious to them? it wasnt illegal to wait to get married until he became a citizen, was it?

You should have no problems with adjusting status, just don't leave US until you have your GC in hand.
