I never said they were irrelevant. I said their shadow was big enough to envelope more than just republicans. Besides I didn't say you were naive, jut that it was naive to think they didn't control the gun debate in Washington.

Calm down, there. ;)

You weren't the poster referred to in post I was replying to.

and obama supports it. he's a nra puppet.

what's that say about obama supporters? secret7vf.gif

Well, by that logic, Obama is a Republican for having gotten Obamacare through Congress and signing it into law. Obamacare, as we all know, originated as Republican policy. Obama must thus be one of them. He's a Republican. So why are Republicans fighting him? They don't like themselves? Makes sense, I don't like them either.

He'd be labeled a dirty socialist by today's Republicans. Heck, the Gipper would be on the far left edge of today's Republican party. That's how insane they've become.

No joke. Imagine one of today's republicans being labeled as "the trust buster"

I miss Teddy Roosevelt. Just right imo

Be careful he will be using Teddy R to justify something Obama does

We need to know what Bush did in this regard and where the NRA stands on this, before we can decide where we stand

This is good news! It is another species that has been saved due to the funding provided by the Pittman-Robertson Act.

The Pittman-Robertson Act, passed in 1937, established an 11% excise tax on the sale of all firearms and ammunition the funds to be used for wildlife management and habitat restoration. It generates billions of dollars earmarked for this work. Gun owners, shooters and hunters PAY for this. In 1970 the tax was extended to fishing equipment, handguns and handgun ammunition and reloading components. All with the support of the NRA.

The NRA supports good wildlife management and protection of natural resources.

In addition to reducing crime, firearms ownership has a long history of preserving our natural resources.

And for people who cannot get past jerking off over their favorite political party...

In each case the Acts were sponsored by a member of each political party. The 1937 act was signed by a Democrat and the 1970 act was signed by a Republican.

Carry on.

Obama isn't nearly as progressive as Teddy Roosevelt was.

That's true, Obama uses George Bush to justify oppressing 4th and 1sr amendment rights saying that Bush was right and that the intrusion into rights begun by Bush needs to continue as a "valuable tool" in the war on terrorism.

You would think Obama could think of his own reasons to oppress our civil rights
