They waited 2 months after our's to order Moh's security checks. But they had requested additional information, and even though we rushed it there, they sat on it for 2 months.

Apparently they start the checks right away because I know of someone who interviewed on 20th who is already completed while the rest of us are still waiting. Like the petition approval, it does not go in order!!

Every case is unique and each Embassy operates differently. The "normal" waiting time post-interview for Cairo is 3 to 6 months unless the beneficiary is female or non-muslim. As it was explained to me by DOS it just depends on how many security checks they order and what kind of "hits" they encounter that they have to address. Hope that helps. I didn't mean to scare you.
