Thank you! I appreciate the walkthrough of your medical exam! It will be very helpful for me once I take it next week. I'm still waiting for my fiance's mom to send me he NVC letter, just because I want it with me if in case they really do require it from me.

thanks! you can have a scanned copy of your nvc letter... when u arrive at St. Lukes, the guard might be the first one to ask u about the nvc letter. lol. when i was asked by the guard about that, i just said i dont have it and he let me in. at the reception, the lady also asked me that as her first question.lol. but before she even ask for more, i already informed her that i will just bring it at the embassy once i receive it. lol. they would really look for that nvc letter from us. but it's also fine without having it. but if u want to have it with u when u go there, that's better good.gif so that there's no more questions. :D good luck in ur medical exam! :)

Congrats!

thanks!

Congratulations and thanks so much for the very detailed review. Its much appreciated, and will help the rest of us who will hopefully going through that medical process soon. They didn't mind you taking pictures inside the hospital/medical facility there? I guess cameras are allowed in there, just not the Embassy for the Interview. Am I allowed to go in St. Lukes and sit with my lovely Fiancee Gina while she takes her medical tests? In your review you said the Doctor asked you "Did you had sex since your last menstruation?" Just curious....how does that affect the medical exam? Should you refrain from having sex a few days or weeks just prior to the exam? Once again Congrats, and thanks!

thanks! bring a gadget or a toy for your child.to divert his/her attention.. during my medical exam, there were many family immigrants who where there who has a child and esp on 2nd floor, you would be hearing some babies or children crying even at the releasing... and i had seen some children who got scared when they heard someone cried after the immunization..also the waiting time is long . if u have a k2 , for the releasing, ur records will be released separately.. u will be called separately.. :)

Hello! salamat!

before I started taking pictures, i had been looking around if there's any signs saying "no picture taking allowed" and there is none..there are many signage or postage in every floor but none about the picture taking. also, im not the only one who were taking pictures esp in the laboratory..cameras, gadgets, slippers are allowed inside.. most people ive seen there has cameras, ipads, cellphones and one even brought a laptop with her.. it's probably allowed to kill the boredom from long waiting times. foods are not allowed but gadgets are ok.

When I was at St. Lukes, I've seen some petitioners who accompanied their wife/fiancee.. but... they have a child with them... so I am not sure if u are really allowed bec those that i've seen, has a child with them...stroller..baby's stuffs.. who were waiting for their wife/fiance to get done with the procedure.. and the guy was the one taking care of their child... my fiance actually wanted to be with me for the medical, but we also asked our fellow vj'ers and most are saying that chaperons maybe allowed if u have dependents or a child...so that's y i just asked my fiance to go here for the interview..u might be lucky and allowed to go inside if there are only few people on the day of ur fiance's medical exam..or depends on the guard's mood that day..

With regards to having sex after the last menstrual period, i think this has something to do with the syphilis test..

primary symptoms of syphilis occurs within 3 weeks.

if they knew that ur fiance just had sex recently after her last menstruation or few days before the medical, they might further do a thorough exam in the #######, etc.. with her. or worst they might ask ur fiancee to wait for few more days/weeks before finishing the medical exam, to see if there are really symptoms that may appear within 3 weeks. syphilis can also be acquired in other means like kissing with the person who is infected, using drugs, sharing needles..etc etc..if u can have an abstinence after the last menstruation, would be better coz we dont know if this might/might not derail the medical exam..

that is just my opinion about the sexual intercourse after the last menstruation.. i wanted to ask the doctor about this, but they all seems to be in a hurry.. the waiting time is much longer than the actual contact with the doctors.. maybe those who had sexual intercourse before their medical can share their exp so that we will know how it affect to them. thanks again! :)

Actually I have read a review here on VJ about this issue before. Sexual contact is not recommended before your medical in St Lukes, mainly because, your fiancee might be ovulating when you had sex. Doctors will take into consideration that your fiancee might be pregnant. There are certain required vaccines to be given that is contraindicated when one is pregnant. MMR will pose a threat to the unborn baby. This will be a big disadvantage on your part because the vaccines are included in the medical fee. It will be noted in your fiancee's file and your fiancee will have to get those vaccines in the US and you will have to pay again, if she is not pregnant after all..

Good luck! good.gif
