He carjacked a car. He had the driver stop so he could spray bullets at a city bus. The Police had been flooded with 911 calls by the time he got to the college. yet oddly he still continued his killing spree.

Well, he was carrying 1300 rounds with him. It could have been worse.

“Any time someone puts on a vest of some sort, comes out with a bag full of loaded magazines, has an extra receiver, has a handgun and has a semi-automatic rifle, carjacks folks, goes to a college, kills more people, and has to be neutralized at the hands of the police, I would say that that’s premeditated,” Seabrooks said.

As usual, what happens when this occurs? They call people with guns to solve the problem.

As Congress saw and agreed in refusing to pass more crime causing restrictions on individual civil rights, the NRA was right. Only GOOD people with guns can stop BAD people with guns. We need to get good people with guns there BEFORE the bad people with guns arrive.

California has some of the strictest gun laws in the USA and these laws are costing the lives of innocent people every day. "Gun Free Zones" like California are simply killing fields for these wackos. Sacrificial sheep for the wolves.

California needs to allow any person over age 18 to carry a concealed handgun without a permit, license, training or background check, the way it is done in states where this does not happen.

Letting anyone loose with a gun, but without the training to use it, is mind-numbingly stupid. <_<

And that's just for starters.

Why do you hate America, Pooky? :P

It's because I love America, and more than a few Americans, that I don't want to see untrained idiots with firearms on the streets "responding" to active shooter scenarios. The likelihood of well-intentioned amateurs leaving collateral damage, and having to live with the consequences, doesn't bear thinking about. :(

How much does that weigh? I guess he was lugging around a duffel?

I'm curious how CA's strict rules applied here. Was he on the CA DOJ confiscation list? How was his rifle shotgun and pistol outfitted etc.

So many loopholes and a neighboring state(s) with little or no restrictions on the purchase of firearms, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out, plus so many of California's restrictions become feckless with grandfather clauses, and statutes of limitation on things like failing to register a listed firearm transferred or imported from out of state. Until law enforce has an encounter with the individual and an opportunity to examine the firearms in his possession, there really is little the state can do about it, although it is one of the more successful states in actively taking firearms away from felons and other individuals that are not allowed to possess firearms.

and they called the guys with the guns many many times over a long period of time. Sadly many died while waiting on them..

True some will say one guy with a glock might not have stopped him, however many guys with no glocks damn sure did not

Trust the Govt they say

Put your safety in the hands of the Police they say

How is that working out so far--Not

It could have been worse, had the police not responded in the way they did. 6 people dead - including the shooter. The shooter, his father, and his brother were three of the victims. For somebody trying to settle accounts and then go out in a blaze of glory (suicide by cop), I would say the police did an adequate job.

Sounds like the way some people here dress for breakfast.

And what? There were no mass shootings here today. Why wouldn't it work in California?

I would say it should not be the job of police.

It could have been better. In Vermont, where anyone can carry guns...it didn't happen. 0 people dead and the police got to enjoy their walk around Battery Park surrounded by peaceful armed citizens. What's worse?

I don't recall mentioning any names.

Neither did I.
