I-485 form- question

on the first page on that form it asks for an A# right next to the social security number. What is an A # ?

i feel like an idiot. okay the NOA2 is the letter that says the national visa center has recently recieved an approved I-129f petition and they are sending to the post where your visa interview will be approved. It has the fiance name, under that is the INS receipt number 13 digits starting with WAC, a bar code, and a case number starting with SNS also 13 digits.

I have downloaded the example form from this web site for a form filled out by someone els. It has an 8 digit number in that block for A#. It might be miss leading since it is an example form. I don't see anywhere where it says A#. On the k1 (I-94) it just has a visa number and dates. I am sure thats not the number. PLease help

My husband's is on teh back of his I-94, handwritten "A#*********"

On the NOA2 it is above his name in the box "BENEFICIARY", top right collumn, 3rd box down.

thanks there it is on the back of the I - 94. It's stapled to the passport didn't think to look on the back side. Thanks a million
