Okay, so, here's my derp moment.

Yes, I should have checked before.

I don't think the consulate here in Calgary does these interviews. It appears to be Vancouver (yay 11 hour drive through mountains...which will probably be IN WINTER...) or Montreal (dear gods don't get me started on driving in Quebec, IT SCARES ME!)

So, on my forms I said oh yes, I'll be going to the consualte in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I wonder if that will bork things up incredibly, or have them go "okay, silly mistake, we'll just tell her she's going to Vancouver instead." If it bounces things back bad, I'm going to feel like an idiot.

oh well, means when the time comes, I'll be doing some scheduling black magic to try to get the consulate interview and the medical close together, the western canada panel doctor is in Surrey (a little outside of Vancouver). All the rest of the panel docs are all around Toronto or Montreal...and seeing if Jesse wants to come on a fun road trip/vacation.

Nothing to make you fear for your life more than a winter drive through the mountain passes in a little mazderp! haha!

Anyway, just thought I'd share this so we can all share our "oops" moments and laugh at ourselves and each other...(and prevent anyone else from doing the same oopsie!)

You'll be going to Vancouver, probably book some time for the medical as well there.

We put Toronto on ours and NVC changed it, I suspect that they'll change yours too.

No worries, it will be fine.

good luck

what's wrong with driving across Canada, really? This east-west movement you'll be doing is just the dry-run for the north-south run for laters.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Lol Darnell nothing, normally. I'm just leery of mountain passes of treachery in winter ;) goodness knows I've driven further (done the Calgary-Ottawa run three times - only one with a human copilot (rest was just me and my mutt, no air conditioning and no cruise control...newer car now lol)

About the same distance from here to Montreal as you to Vancouver! 11 hours! Tons of fun! (not) I will probably fly...I really don't want to drive through Quebec on my own...definitely not in the winter.

Fair enough! And Montreal has some terrifying drivers. Granted its been a good nine/ten years since I've been to Montreal but still. Crazy.

Course it's been even longer since I've been to Vancouver...so their drivers may surprise me too lol.

Westjet flies into Vancouver now not just Abbotsford. Then there’s always airport shuttles and public transit (SkyTrain & buses) to get you around.

If you were looking at other options instead of driving the mountain passes in the winter.

So the topic is silly oopsies made... I answered a question asking if I was dead "NO" (on a medical preregistration)... the problem was, the question was "Is the Petitioner still Alive?" Sure glad I caught it and sent the thing again. When you answer that question as dead, your name doesn't even show up in the proof read oops8rh.gif

Thank you Lord! You have literately given me Mercy!

Hahahahahaha. Wow. That's an interesting one.

Hikergirl, I know there's always the flying/transit option but driving is probably cheaper (or even balancing out - especially if you take into account parking fees etc at the airport. Guess we'll see where I'm at when the time for the interviews and medicals rolls around :)

I use Park2Go at the airport. If you reserve your spot on-line it’s cheaper and it’s more of a valet parking system for your car than ParkNFly. If you’re flying in the dead of winter when you get back to the pickup point your car is waiting and warm. They also have an app, so when you land and turn on your phone, you can tell them you’ve landed and they get your car ready for you. They shuttle you to and from the terminal same as the other lots.

Park n jet is actually a bit cheaper, if I remember right (god bless AMA!) but last time I compared was a few years back...when I feared park2go cause my old car required black magic and a possible goat sacrifice to start...

Like I said. We'll see when it happens lol. At least Jesse is down for copilot privileges ;) make a nice trip out for us. :)
