"Evidencing permanent residence for 1 year"

My husband and I just got our passports with the immigrant visas in them. In the visa it says "Upon endorsment serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year". Can someone tell me what this means?

They give you 1 year from the day your were approved in case you want to travel before your green card arrive.

Its depends it take only two weeks to three weeks to receive the green card and yes u can get social security cardwith it
