People have mentioned sending affidavits with their I-129F for the section of "proof that they've met in the past 2 years", which i agree is a good idea because it helps as a witness of others having met us together. Is there a link someone can send me for filling out affidavits? There are many online, but I'm looking for what you guys have used. Thanks a lot! (we're having to submit more info as we recieved as RFE)

These letters are basically worthless because anyone can say anything about any subject without it being true or correct. It also doesn't hurt to do it and serves to make you think you did all you could. Better to put the effort into something they require.

An affidavit is simply a statement of the presumed facts. If you do this don't bother with the notary aspect that people assume is needed. A notary simply verifies signatures and has zero to do with content.

Yeah, I don't see a point to sending affidavits. You need bank statements or receipts in the opposite country. That'll do just fine. Please, focus on getting that.

affidavits are okay if they make you feel better

you want quality representation over time. if you are going through a high fraud country, then frontload extra proof.

you are best writing something like an evolution of the relationship with supporting documents and pictures.. make sure your pictures are captioned and dated

make it simple.. one page docs are the best.. you don't need an essay on how you met or all the I love my fiancée so much stuff

I sent 2 of them one from my mother and one from my sister complete with their numbers of phone contact incase they would like to call and verify , and also had them get it notarized. If they even took them into evidence I have no idea . But figured it couldn't hurt , Just go with your instincts and what you feel would be best in your case.
