Sounds like the solution then is to just lower our standard of living to that of the majority of the rest of the world.

That's pretty much already happened. People need to stop living in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Most of those jobs are gone, and they aint coming back.

People need to look towards the future. Sitting around talking about how great union jobs were in the past, isn't going to put food on the table in the present

Yes, expect there to be an elite class of wealthy land owners and the rest of us should squabble for the scraps from Longshanks table!

Indentured servitude is looking mighty good. ;)

It was easier to support your family when your perceived needs were less.

Bingo.. You can't support a family on min wage40 hours per week if you have cell phones cable nice cars.

Land reform now! ...because it has worked so well where it has been tried before.

Better yet have the government nationalize all private industry. That should work out well. After all, they do such a good job of running the government now.

or just lower your individual standard of living to live within your needs.

We could call this year 0, clear out the cities, and have everyone go work on farms.

So what's your solution?

I wish I had a solution.

Under the current way we export jobs to the lowest bidder, we will end up with a low paying service industry type economy. I doubt this current model could sustain itself at the current rate of loss over an extended period.

The fact is that US companies are making record profits in the trillions. But the US won't see growth here; that money is sent overseas. At this point even an education is no guarantee of a bright economic future...other than not being ignorant that is. (Yet I encourage education)

The problem is huge and not easily solved with one idea.

I just want the virgins.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. --Matthew 6:19-20

I just want the virgins.

It's page five again. When will the OP ask for the thread to be closed?

Probably not enough wind or sun to power his laptop for the night.
