You going to get a lot of One's on this one. Point is I don't give a rats ####### if GWB started it or not. If he did he was wrong, Obama is wrong and it needs to stop.

We are losing our freedoms.

What I don't understand is that the very people who were so up in arms about it, now just shrug and say, "Bush started it". Ok Bush started it. he sucked. Now what.

I know, right? If Bush started it, then it is OK for it to continue because we can blame Bush.

We elected Obama to fix what Bush did wrong! Now Obama says "Bush was right" and he needs to keep doing this. His low information voter followers are perfectly Ok with him doing this...and being unaware of everything in his administration.

This should have ended on inauguration day, 2009.

You must have been deaf. What *&%% difference does it make if GWb started it. It's wrong then and it's wrong now .

It blows my mind that so many of you people claim to be for civil liberties but all you can say is .....Bush did it to".

so you didn't understand the point. that's okay i guess cause i don't get the numbering thing..

you felt it was wrong under bush, did you voice this dissent or accept it as a necessary evil in the fight against terrorism?

Yes i thought it was wrong now and then and said so.

What I don't get is no matter how bad Obama steps on our civil liberties none of you who screamed bloody murder about it under Bush can bring yourselves to criticize him. It's amazing. No matter what this man does, you all go Bush did it to, each and every time. Ok I get it Bush started it, Bush sucked .... Obama has raised it to the tenth power.

Since you libs always respond with the same canned BS every time Obama tramples all over our Constitution and rights I developed a simplified response system for you.

A. Bush's fault . can also be "conjure up any conservative in history that even remotely did anything similar to what is going on today. It makes it ok.

this is so twilight zone.

why did you all not have a problem with this under bush? because the purpose was honorable and carried out by honorable government to "fight terrorism"?

and what is the reason obama is continuing such surveillance? socialist muslim brotherhood world domniation? gotta get those fema camp guest lists going?

interesting.

We did have a problem with it under Bush.

Why don't you have a problem with it under Obama.. Freaking Amazing

What I don't understand is that the very people who were so up in arms about it, now just shrug and say, "Bush started it". Ok Bush started it. he sucked. Now what.

And that's the point I was trying to make. Why is everything under Obama wrong, but when other Presidents did it, not only did no one complain, but there was an overwhelming show of support in said action?

IRS: Bush had the NAACP and quite a few liberal churches investigated when they said some less than positive things about him. Don't recall it hitting the news, him apologizing about it, or them suing. If it happened please link it so I can see it.

Benghazi: It's funny how Obama is responsible for that, but 9-11 wasn't Bush's fault. You had the fringe left calling for his head, but I don't recall major party leaders doing it.

Budget: The Tea Party swears this is one of their biggest concerns, but in 2008, when folks were losing their jobs left and right, I didn't know who they were. That would have been the perfect time to hit the pavement and talk about the deficit. But when Obama came into office, they were loud and proud.

Gun control: When Clinton signed the assault ban back in 1996, I don't recall Ted Nuget(sp) or anyone else talking about rising up and raining blood and fire on anyone. The same bill that Obama can't even get through the house USED to be a law. Where was the "Don't tread on me" folks back then?

Gay Rights: This administration has done more for LBGT than anyone preceding it, yet that lady at Getright felt "she couldn't hold it any longer".

Folks say that social times are changing, but the respect that is given to the Oval office shouldn't change. And if you want to rage against the machine, be bipartisan about it.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

i do have a problem with it. freaking amazing you assume i have some undying devotion to obama. i don't.

similarly amazing that your mind is so narrow you think the issue is about chastising either bush or obama. at this point in time, the matter is much bigger than both of their presidencies.

What is ironic is that then-Senator Obama had a problem with it back in 2007, but is okay with now, and has been for the past 4 years.

It was wrong when BushBaby did it. It's wrong now. This isn't a question of politics. It is a question of power, and the abuse of same.

Word. Some people just have partisan anger which should be taken with a grain of salt.

From what I understood about the NSA stuff, they still had to get a warrant to search through the database. Supposedly, it wasn't possible to collect records in a database and then find what they needed in time to catch anyone. So they created a database they can't access unless a judge allows............... right.......

Still, nothing in the call is being recorded, just the tower and both numbers. BTW, your cell provider would have to be collecting these in the first place in order to hand them over to the NSA. Slip Slope may apply a bit here but I'm not overly worried about this.

I thought it was wrong. And since my member name never changes because...why would I do that?...and I never use cartoon characters for avatars, you can check.

I believe my prior statement was "I would rather risk my children dying in a terrorist attack than having their freedom taken from them!" I still feel the same.

Alla, who grew up in the USSR agrees.

I had hoped Obama would at least get this right. He did not.

It doesn't matter if you are concerned about it. It is wrong and unconstitutional and an erosion of your rights.

Obama was supposed to stop it. He did not. Do you think he will not expand what is being done? You think only the IRS is doing things they should not?

You have rights. Or you do not have rights. It does not matter who is President, that is why they are RIGHTS.

If you are OK with them taking away your rights...just a little bit...then you have no regard for your rights.

So we'll be voting the 274 Republicans and 74 Democrats that passed the renewal of this law last December out of office in 2014, yes?

We'll do the same with Obama. Get him out of office in 2017 as well. I promise not to vote for him again. content.gif

I answered a question posted in a public forum. How is that a "beef"? If you mean the question for only one person, then use a PM. Contributing on-topic opinion in a public forum is not "stirring the pot", it is a discussion.

I hope so. I can only vote for the one(s) running in my state, but yes, if my Representative voted for this I will vote against him. (neither of my Senators are up for election in 2014)

We could throw them all out and it would be fine with me.
