So please correct me if I am wrong. My fiance is in New York City and he have applied and sent in paperwork. It has gotten accepted at the California location, I recently had a Medical and we are so close to finish. I miss him so much!!! The last thing is interviewing me at the embassy and receive my visa.

I heard rumors from my friends and people close to me that there are lots of interviewees getting denied on 13th, 15th, 17th of the month. Is there any truth in this? I hope this is all just jokes! How horrible it is! So I just want to hear from the community here if there is truth within this rumors or if you had interviews on this days last few months and got denied. Just want to help the community. This is the only reason I created a account here and is my first post so be nice to me!

tc always,

Jenny

Flat-out denied? or were they asked to submit additional documents?

If I were you, I would concentrate on my own case and do the preparation for bonafide relationship ahead of time so I wouldn't cram before the actual interview day.

Each case is different. The consul will assess your case based on the evidences that you submitted and the circumstances of your relationship.

Stop listening to the "rumors", IMO.

Not all completely denied, I've just heard they weren't accepted right away. But you are correct, I'll just focus on my responsibilities. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

HI

I honestly don't know for a fact and i think it would be a little bit hard for anybody here to say if it is 100% true, but it sounds to me like is more a rumor than anything. The reason being that the consulate has to focus on the proofs they have for the case, i don't think an specific date of the month is going to make a difference on the approval or denial. Have all your ducks on a row and have faith and everything should be alright.

You would be surprise with the amount of negative feedback people sometimes can give you (not necessarily here), but what makes a difference is how you learn how to handle them. Trust yourself and be prepared, if the relationship is real and you have all your stuff there shouldn't be any problem.

Keep your eyes on the prize!!!

Good Luck on your interview :D

Exactly what i was writing....i know its hard not to be worried, but it helps a lot to have the right set of mind and keep being possitive. Avoid the negativity.

I might not have any experience yet interviewing for a IR-1/CR-1 visa but what you said sounds preposterous and absolutely ludicrous.

There is no such thing as specific times and days of the month where the US State Department would indiscriminately refuse visas to people who are otherwise qualified and eligible to receive them.

I have also heard similar rumors such as COs having to meet certain "quota" of refusals per month, using certain "magic" words or "special" things that you should do during the interview to increase your chance of getting approved, are all just that, unsubstantiated rumors and should be thoroughly disregarded.

Remember that IR-1/CR-1 is an Immigrant Visa (IV) and an entirely different category than Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV). Where approvals of NIV are subjected to whether you, the foreigner, can convince the CO that you are a qualified candidate to receive a visa, IV is based on the ability of US citizens to sponsor their foreign spouses, a right guaranteed by citizenship. As long as you are in a genuine relationship with your partner/spouse and you can proof that the relationship is authentic, you are already half way there. The other half would have to be decided on whether you, the beneficiary, meet the requirements (medical, criminal record check, etc) to receive an IV.

Well that is good to hear. Logically it sounds so off but being in my position I could not help but get so worried. I'm sure things will be ok, I'll just prepare as best as I can.

Adrianna&karol said it best!! First thing, don't listen to people in the PI giving you bad info. Listen to us, Listen to Hank,,,, listen to the people on this PI thread that have been through this... There is absolutely no way the U.S picked a couple days to deny visa's.

Go to your interview fully prepared, smile and be comfortable as possible, listen to the questions being asked, answer only what they asked and you will be approved. Good luck and no worries.

Hom mai dee? Mabaho? Yes, they hassle everyone who does not have all their ducks in a row, and rightly so for not being prepared and following the printed directions such as, photos with date and location on the back, 2" x 2" passport "style" photos, black ink,

No time to be Filipino clever, or do instead what a friend of the ex-neighbor of ate Maria did, just RTFM and you'll be OK.

Your timeline is not completed, but you are saying it just got accepted CSC which means you are about 6 months away from getting the petition approved. Then you state you did the medical already, do you have your MNL # and are actually at the visa application stage of this process?
