Last Name and How it Affects the AOS/ROC

My foreign fiance and I are currently awaiting an NOA2 on a K-1 visa, so we are far from the AOS/ROC process, but we were both curious...

We talked about her changing her last name once we are married, and she said she would like to keep her last name as part of her new last name. For example, if my last name is Smith, and her last name is Jones, instead of becoming Mrs. Smith, she would like it to be Mrs. Jones-Smith.

My question is this: how would this look to the person handling the ROC, or even AOS? Would the failure to change her name to just my last name raise a flag as far as intention upon coming here and marrying me?

No red flag. When you AOS and ROC they are looking more at how you co-mingle as a married couple. Bills in both your names, bank accounts all that stuff married folk do to show its a bonafide.

Many woman on this journey don't change their name.

my wife took her last name , made it her middle name and used my last name as her last name, we didn't have any problems with, just be sure its shows on all your documents.

It is a non-issue. She can change her name when married or not change it. Either way has no affect on AOS or ROC.

We did same as JoyJohn - wife used her last as as a middle mine as last and changed it during AOS, when her GC came with the name as she wanted it we changed the Social, DL, banking etc. She felt using her last as a middle would show the progression on her passsport and aleviate any questions for less than sharp airport or CBP personnnel no matter what country.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

To clarify though, she wants to add her last name to mine with a hyphen. She already has a middle name.

Doesn't matter. No bearing on her processes.
