Hey guys,

Unfortunately i am not among those who got their GC's approved immediately. I am sorry i didn't update this earlier, i went straight to drop the missus at the airport and crashed on the nearest bed. Ive had no sleep this past few days.

It was an appointment for 11:15am at the Fallon building in Baltimore, I got there around 11am , went through the whole search thing and was in the waiting room at around 11:07. My wife met me there straight from work, didn't have to get searched because she's a federal employee. We waited for what seemed hours goofing around until we got called around 12:15.

We got an older guy who seemed nice and was even trying to pronounce my name right on the way to his office. Getting there, he showed us to our seats and swore us in. Interview was painless, as he was just crosschecking what he had on file with us. When he couldn't find my i-94, i explained what happened there and he was fine with it. Then he asked where we met, which i had answered as concisely as possible too. He checked out all the evidence and he seemed to have an issue with my birth certificate. He put it aside and checked the rest out. He saw that i came in with an f-1 and we ended up talking about our similar beginner careers(he studied civil engineering and I architecture). I gave him more evidence to add to file and pictures too. Then he came back to the BC and told me that he would have to have it checked out because he does not know if it is acceptable(Im Nigerian, so it is in english, idk). He then told me how ,if it checks out, I would receive my Green card within two weeks to a month. He asked if i had any questions for him and i said no, thinking back i could've asked for better clarification because now i do not even know if i am approved or not. And that was it. he didn't collect my EAD from me or anything.

Im thinking, if it was not acceptable at first, i should've received an RFE..right? I didn't and i don't know why it put me in limbo now. I haven't received any text/email update or anything now. But its okay.

So am I. I wasnt approved on the spot. They said they will inform their decision by mail. We were interviewed separately. I got nervous with the whole process and maybe that's the reason why some of my answers were not consistent with what my husband said.So she said she cant make a decision yet because of some of our inconsistent answers. Then she explained how conditional permanent resident works and what needs to be done 90 days before it expires and what other documents that we need to submit. I hope we dont get denied:(So I am still in limbo:(

So sorry to hear that Olsan3. But like you said, if your BC wasn't acceptable they would have probably sent you an RFE a while ago. I am sure that everything will work out for you and you will get a notification soon saying that your status changed!!! Stay positive!

Yes, stay positive and I'm sure we all will keep our collective fingers crossed. It doesn't sound like either of you have anything to worry about. That being said it still is a tad nerve racking playing the waiting game. As a reference it took six days from the interview to see a change to card production for us. You all are sooo close the the finish line now.... wohoo!!!!

olsan3 - Don't know what airlines you are looking at but some of them allow you to place a "hold" on the tickets for 24 hours or longer, depending on the airline. I've done that and then just kept renewing my hold. It's worked sometimes and other times didn't but worth a try if possible.

I'm so happy, my GC was approved. I entered the building at 10:00 appointment was at 10:30 I was called at 11:08 the interviwer asked me a few questions from the I 485 DOB, date I came to the USA. If I ever comited.fraud etc etc. she asked me for my EAD card told me she was going to make a copy when she returned she said that I was approved she didn't see any reasons for not approving me and that I should receive my card in the mail in the next 3 to 4 Weeks.

Congrats on your approval!

We just had our interview yesterday and had to wait 1hr 30mins till we were called in.

Got there around 9:30am (interview was at 10am) and we weren't called until close to 11:30am.

That wait was brutal!!! But luckily the interview itself was over in 15mins.

He asked to see original Birth Certificates and passports and Driver Licenses and Wedding Certificate.

He just asked each others birthdays and name of her mom and dad. Place of POE and asked about my job.

He loved the fact that we were organized and quick to hand over originals quickly to him.

He said we gave a lot of solid evidence and will approve the case.

Then he looked at the pictures we brought in and talked about RoC in 2 years.

Thank goodness the interview approval went nice and easy other than the wait time to get called in!

Good luck to the others that have their interview soon!
