I know it's a bit early but thought we'd get a June AOS thread going. We mailed our documents May 31st and received both three emails and three texts for each of the packets we sent last night. I put

Hello everyone! I am a June filer as well (I130, I485, I131, I765, and all the trimmings).

My application was received on June 28th and I received all my NOA's on July 6th (notice date July 2nd).

I did not include the form to request the email/text notification, there were already so many forms to file and I was so overwhelmed!

I received my biometrics appointment notice on July 9th (notice date July 5th) and my appointment was for August 2nd, but I had to go into the city for some other reason a few days before, so I decided to try a walk-in. The people at the office were very nice and friendly and had absolutely no problem with my early walk in.

The problem I am having so far is that I need to travel back home as soon as possible because my grandfather is very sick and I want to spend time with him before anything happens. I called the customer service on July 15th and the operator promptly expedited the AP case. I received a FRE notice for the expediting on July 29th and on July 31st I faxed them what they were asking for.

I really need to go home, but there seem nothing I can do at this point. I called the national customer service a few times and I even spoke to tier 2 for further questions, but nobody seems to be able to give me a timeline. Comparing my case with all the other June filers it seems I would get my AP and even my EAD faster if I just didn't even bother with the expediting.

Sim.Mon. perhaps you should schedule an info pass at your local office. From my readings on this site it sounds like you might be able to be issued an AP on the spot or within one day! Good Luck! And prayers for your grandfather...

Thank you sanyata. I already tried the infopass appointment and they told me there is nothing they can do for me. It is just really frustrating that I cannot do anything and nobody seems to be able (or willing) to help. Everyone keeps on telling me that they will process it as fast as they can. That doesn't mean anything. As fast as they can in the past has meant as much as 6 months.

Did you try making the appointment and they refused or did you actually have an appointment you went to and they told you that? Sorry, it's just not clear to me. If it was just a phone conversation then I'd show up at the office and wait as long as it took to talk to a supervisor. I don't know how feasible that is for you due to distance, job, etc. but I'd give it a try if you can't or didn't get an actual appointment. I feel your frustration and hope it works out for you!

Just checked the case status update and got this:

Post Decision Activity

On August 3, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

AND

Card/ Document Production

On August 3, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

OH HAPPY DAY! OH HAPPY DAY!

I actually went to the office and the person I spoke to did not help me a bit. I guess I could try again. I don't live too far away from my local office.

Aw, that sucks! Definitely ask for a supervisor and be assertive yet polite. Don't give up! Hoping for the best!!!!

This morning I checked my status on uscis.gov and they approved my case and the letter is in the mail!

Now its a matter of waiting only a few days!

I am so happy USCIS came through this time for me. The best they could tell me on Friday when I spoke to customer service was two weeks to a month.

I am so happy and grateful, I am going to buy my ticket home in only a couple of days!

My husband and I filed AOS beginning of June. Hopefully, we'll hear soon from USCIS for the ead/ap.. smile.png

08/30/13 AOS approved. Interview was canceled by USCIS. But I showed up and was approved! :)

I'm pretty sure the card production is the Employment Authorization Document (EAD). We have an interview for the Adjustment Of Status on Aug 21st and if all goes well then we can take a breather for one year and nine months!
