Funny thing is you can disscuss almost any group of people, Christians, Conservative nuts, Leftist Nuts, but by god don't post anything that no matter how factual that portrays Islam in a bad light, even if it is a direct news report of a statement made by one.

Of course Big Dog thinks the same thing about the NRA but they catch plenty of hell in here.

I'm not prejudiced or racist. I hate all races and people equally.

I've read and continue to read lots of old threads. There is a limit to how much one can read about old, perhaps non-relevant topics. Plus I can't argue or make a point with many of the posters as they've moved on. Besides, the past is one thing, the current climate in Islam related material in these forums is fairly predictable IMO. I'm looking forward to it though.

After having been here a while you pretty much know who thinks what about what.. Like TM and GZ, we just all go around and round saying the same ol stuff. Of course it's fun after the event is offer if your opinion prevailed.

The hardcore Obama fans had a lot of fun with us non-obama fans after the elections.

For real, there's been like 20 regular posters in P&R for the past six months. Guns are the over whelming topic of discussion since Obama from what I've seen. And yes, no one ever changes any one's mind but the comments/personalities/antics are priceless.

The hardcore Obama fans had a lot of fun with us non-obama fans after the elections.

I enjoy those. I especially enjoyed Gary's rant about going on the dole.

I always see those "Islam" threads get shut down pretty quickly. We must tip toe around the Islam religion here

Yes, we must tip toe around Islam and around the NRA. Both appear to be protected species here in P&R. Muslims must love guns... *shrugs*

I especially enjoyed Gary's rant about going on the dole.

That wasn't a rant, that was a full blown meltdown.

I heard the MB started the NRA to destroy the US.

It does kinda make sense.

It's all coming together now.

I mean really, what would the US do without a mysterious enemy? We had the Koreans, Vietnamese, Cubans, USSR and then POOF no more enemy around 1987. Please someone queue Saddam...

If we didn't have the MB or AQ we'd create them...and in many ways we did that in Afghanistan in the 1970's. If not for that enemy I believe Iran would be a wasteland by now.

During times of peace enough money can't be diverted into our black programs. It's hard to hide those trillions in a normal military budget. So we'll always need a boogeyman...because these bookkeeping colors don't run red!

It's not rocket science... ;)

That meeting with President Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood uncovers one thing and that is just how lousy the political situation is over there right now. One guy in the video was even suggesting in the meeting that they should send the Egyptian Soccer team to handle the Ethiopian Dam situation because of how popular they are in Africa. So their idea is to send the Egyptian soccer star, Mohamed Aboutrika, to handle the diplomatic situation? It's like if the United States sent Dennis Rodman to handle the North Korean nuclear crisis.

Its hard to believe that the US intelligence community is this dumb. The United States has worked with opposition governments on the DL before with the condition that the foreign government was allowed to maintain a public anti-american persona. This is interesting but I don't think this is going to be news to our government or Israel's for that matter.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1245.htm

"As his unclassified CIA biography states, bin Laden left Saudi Arabia to fight the Soviet army in Afghanistan after Moscow’s invasion in 1979. By 1984, he was running a front organization known as Maktab al-Khidamar - the MAK - which funneled money, arms and fighters from the outside world into the Afghan war.

What the CIA bio conveniently fails to specify (in its unclassified form, at least) is that the MAK was nurtured by Pakistan’s state security services, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, or ISI, the CIA’s primary conduit for conducting the covert war against Moscow’s occupation. By no means was Osama bin Laden the leader of Afghanistan’s mujahedeen. His money gave him undue prominence in the Afghan struggle, but the vast majority of those who fought and died for Afghanistan’s freedom - like the Taliban regime that now holds sway over most of that tortured nation - were Afghan nationals.

Yet the CIA, concerned about the factionalism of Afghanistan made famous by Rudyard Kipling, found that Arab zealots who flocked to aid the Afghans were easier to “read” than the rivalry-ridden natives. While the Arab volunteers might well prove troublesome later, the agency reasoned, they at least were one-dimensionally anti-Soviet for now. So bin Laden, along with a small group of Islamic militants from Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria and Palestinian refugee camps all over the Middle East, became the “reliable” partners of the CIA in its war against Moscow."

... Indeed, to this day, those involved in the decision to give the Afghan rebels access to a fortune in covert funding and top-level combat weaponry continue to defend that move in the context of the Cold War. Sen. Orrin Hatch, a senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee making those decisions, told my colleague Robert Windrem that he would make the same call again today even knowing what bin Laden would do subsequently. “It was worth it,” he said.

“Those were very important, pivotal matters that played an important role in the downfall of the Soviet Union,” he said.

Also see below:

Former FBI translator and Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, interviewed by Brad Friedman on the The Mike Malloy Show on June 2009 has stated : "I have information about things that our government has lied to us about. I know. For example, to say that since the fall of the Soviet Union we ceased all of our intimate relationship with Bin Laden and the Taliban - those things can be proven as lies, very easily, based on the information they classified in my case, because we did carry very intimate relationship with these people, and it involves Central Asia, all the way up to September 11."[10]

I thought this was all common knowledge? It's not some left wing conspiracy theory by any stretch. Bottom line is that communism was doomed to fail.

But like I stated, we always need an enemy even if it's only on paper. The fact is 9/11 only increased the power of these covert agencies and they needed a new foe after the fall of communism. That was my point. Proven conspiracy or not the fact is 9/11 re-solidified power and generated astronomical amounts of funding for the very agencies that had a hand in creating the enemy. It seems rather odd to me for it to just be a huge coincidence. But draw your own conclusions.

The United States has worked with opposition governments on the DL before with the condition that the foreign government was allowed to maintain a public anti-american persona. This is interesting but I don't think this is going to be news to our government or Israel's for that matter.

I think the intelligence community knew it too but I'm not convinced they're willingly working together on the DL. President Obama has said on National Television in an interview that Egypt is not our ally but they're not our enemy either. The MB just went on the record that America and Israel are their great enemies. While Secretary of State Kerry went ahead and gave them the annual money allotted to them. Possibly not to fall out of favor into un-repairable territory with the Egyptian population to bide time until the next election can change the hands of power. If they didn't give the money they'd break the Camp David Accords and put Egyptians in more dire straights than before.

They're having a difficult time with getting the supplies they need to run the economy while people are starving. The gas stations are always running empty, which leave the tractors unable to harvest the wheat, and the wheat is need to make the bread that the majority of the population eats.

The MB government is largely failing Egypt. Maybe what I'm getting at can best be said in this news article Watching Egypt Crumble. It discusses many of the issues facing Egypt after the election if you want to read the full article. The Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau is using the same tactics as those during the Mubarak era but the MB is doing more of it in a less amount of time and making the situation far worse.

During the presidential race the Brotherhood sold the Egyptians on the Renaissance Project, the Islamist group’s ideas for a new Egypt. They promised a plan that will transform the country in four years, Morsi’s term as president.
They came through with their promise and transformed Egypt, only for the worst. The Renaissance Project turned out to be a hoax.
Egypt has become a stateless country and the definition of bad governance. The Ikhwan proved that they have no experience running a country of Egypt’s importance and cannot offer real solutions to its problems. They continue to use the same oppressive methods through the Ministry of Interior as well as their own members; torture, imprisonment and libel.
