Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of obtaining a new long form birth certificate and I have run into a potential problem (hopefully not a big problem).

I was born in North York, Ontario - when North York was still seperate from Toronto. It is now part of the city of Toronto. However, I mistakenly put Toronto as my birth place when I filled out my g-325.

Now I'm filling out the info to get a new birth certificate and if I put Toronto instead of North York on it, I could get into an issue with service Ontario. But if I put North York on it and show up to my interview with a birth certifate North York and my g-325 saying Toronto there could be an issue with the Consulate.

My current birth certificate says North York as my place of birth.

Any advice would be appreciated!

You were born where you were born. When you do the DS-260 just fill it out correctly and your birth certificate will collaborate. If there is a question asked, simply tell them what you told us. :) I can't imagine it's a problem.
