Infants and toddlers should all have background checks. They are sneaky little devils.

If you can't leave your loaded weapon with the family around then who can you leave it loaded around?

America is truly in decline...

Because I am bleeding heart liberal. I thought that was common knowledge around here.

Yup, but only to those who can read.

But back on topic - CPS (Child protective services) is doing some investigation, as well. Unsure where they are, stage-wise, but at least the kid isna dead.

That's got to be a plus, for the Mom.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Unless the child picked a lock and loaded the weapon themselves then I think the "investigation" is pretty much a no brainier.

I'm very happy the child survived. Now maybe the firearms will get locked up? Maybe?

What kind of a moron leaves a gun around a child anyway especially a loaded gun? I wouldn't leave a plastic BB shooting "gun" around a 4 year old and even the knife drawer has a child lock she can't get around.

And I thought it was against the TOS to call VJ members names. Shame on you!

He should have said, "only a Darwinian leaves a loaded gun laying around".

Because in like a 1000 years that family will either be non-existent or able to leave loaded guns in the bassinet with the child.

Why would they now get locked up? The child should have learned a lesson here, no?

Exactly. I bet he never accidently shoots himself again. I bet the noise and pain made him sh!t his pants. He will always remember this as a lesson learned the hard way. He's fortunate to have learned it so young.

grandpa normally keeps that pistol under his pillow.

IMO, he should have put it away the instant he knew the mother and child were coming in for a visit.

Any normal thinking human would do this, but Grandpa is obviously a gun nut. He probably thought the Mother and child were really Obama operatives coming to take away his 2nd amendment rights, so he wanted to be prepared to open fire at any second. This type of behavior is very common amongst gun nuts, especially those in rural areas like Vermont.

That might be too late. Pregnant women should probably get a firearm imbedded into their wombs so the fetus can get familiar with the device early on.

Eff that, men should rig up all their sperm with firearms prior to vaginal sex meant for procreative purposes (which is the only correct and acceptable form of sex anyway). Women aren't let off -- they should prep all their ova with bullets.
